It’s about freaking time! A law to defend the law-abiding citizen. Demoncrats will oppose it, of course.

This BS is clearly a violation of the double jeopardy ideals. You’re found innocent, then tried again for the same crime? Criminal vs civil is just another reason we need to dramatically restrict what people can sue for and strict restrictions on what attorneys themselves can accept as legitimate cases. They need to have reasonable fees, limits, and all fees charged are the same regardless of a person’s financial status. Ever notice that a trial for the average person usually lasts a few days. If you’re an OJ, it lasts months or until you can milk them of millions. If I go to buy a car or truck, and a millionaire goes in to buy the same vehicle, it won’t cost him more, if anything, he’ll get the better deal. If the same applied to these “ambulance” chasers we’d see fewer of these cases and we’d hopefully cease being a country of law suits and a country that respects individuals. There needs to be more legislation like this that severely restricts what one may sue for and what they can collect. One more thing, if you succeed in getting a case heard, the loser pays all court costs. If the individual cannot pay, the law firm would be on the hook to pay.

You got that right. Years ago, I was having a drink with a girlfriend at a small upscale bar/restaurant in Santa Monica. This giant basketball star Shaq walks in with an entourage of blonde blue eyed model type women and they sit at a table next to us. The owner comes over fawning all over them and tells them to order whatever they want, it’s on the house. I’m sitting there thinking I can’t afford more than 2 drinks in this place but this famous multi-millionaire gets the free treatment. Life’s not fair.
