What kind of idiot doesn’t know about a DD-214? Everyone that has ever been in any branch of American Service gets a DD-214. It’s your military record of job classification and assignments. I enjoy a few perks but some people go a little overboard expecting them. USN- 1968-1972 Thanks for your service.

So, Hunter Biden’s dad proclaimed Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter, though it’s yearly observed on March 31.
Did he do a similar proclamation for March 29 which needed more of a visibility because it was only designated as a National Day of Remembrance in 2017?

Ok, may be going off topic a little bit here, but there is something else we Veterans have in the way of special treatment that does not entail discounts or free meals, and that is the comradery we share. Much better than any discount I get.
We joke together. We pick on each other. We call each other names: Jar Heads, Grunts, Wing Nuts, Semen or Flipper. Those are the PC names we call each other. We tell each other our War Stories - everyone has them, even a Chair Force guy like me “There I was, downtown London, New Years Eve, 1987…” Well, maybe not a “War Story”, but still. We all have our exploits across Europe, Middle East, Far East, Continental US, we were there.
I can take some good natured ribbing from my Brothers and Sisters who wore the uniform (even some folks who didn’t wear the uniform but served in different capacities - Don102 for example), but I cannot, WILL NOT, take any bad mouthing from any Civilian who never made the decision to put their life in front of others. First Responders and Medical Professionals are exempted for obvious reasons. I don’t care what degree they have or how many letters they have behind their names. I have a DD-214. I don’t need a BS in BS.
I have my Brothers and Sister, they pick on me for being Air Force, I pick on them for being Army, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard. It’s what we do. That is our Special Treatment.

You are exactly right, people that have never served don’t always comprehend what’s going on with us Vets. You learn real quick to dish out jokes in defense of yourself. Because you will have jokes pulled on you. It’s a great brotherhood, and I wouldn’t take anything for it. I met a lot of good people, and saw a lot of places I would have never seen. Thank GOD we survived some of our craziness. Tons of good memories. Take care Brother.
