I’m seeing all around that the nfa is in big trouble. As I understand the $0 tax makes it unconstitutional to collect money for anything under the nfa. It would be considered fund raising and would be illegal. That being said this would not only eliminate regulations on accessories but even the ffl itself. Could you imagine!?! Any clarity on the topic from lawyers out there? Am I way off???
Not dead dead, but has been deemed unconstitutional even without looking at the plain text of the second amendment.
Unfortunately there’s a 7 day window where they can appeal the ruling, which I’m fairly certain they will.
If they don’t however, suppressors, sbrs, sbss, and certain AOWs (like pen guns) become transferable on a basic 4473.
If I’m understanding how this works, what will happen next is an appeal or extension be filed before the Aug. 12th date, which will keep everything “as-is”. However, if neither happen, then only those named in the lawsuit would be eligible to acquire suppressors, SBS and SBRs without the need to follow the NFA process currently in place.
We shall see as time ticks down…
That is the take I have heard from multiple sources and you have until Aug 12th to join one of the organizations involved in the lawsuit to be included in the ruling.
I read if you bought anything from PSA (Palmetto State armory) you’re gtg as well…good synopsis here
Most states also regulate the NFA items, too, and those laws will still be in effect.
Id love it if it were dead. I’d love to order a suppressor and not have to ask permission from big daddy. Just delivered to my door like any other gun part or ammo.
Not gonna hold my breath though
urgent flood the lines and tell them not to appeal it.
The constitution says what it says ‘will not be infringed’ NFA is unconstitutional, do not appeal it!
White House: 202-456-1111 DOJ: 202-353-1555
Mississippi only refers you to the Federal regulations concerning NFAs. No separate state laws governing them. So if federal regulations go bye bye then ![]()
I got to tell ya, about that joining an organization stuff. If something is unconstitutional for one citizen, I promise you in the court of law it could and would be argued as unconstitutional for all. Enforcement would become a waste of time instantly. On anyone
4 miles from home
..if this goes through it’ll take me 10 minutes to go broke. Got 3 now, would like 2 more.
If appealed, it goes to SCOTUS for final determination. One thing I read leads me to believe ATF isn’t going to appeal. I just don’t remember where I read that.
I read the new head of the atf is pro 2a and …we’ll see, and soon.
Wish it would go to SCOTUS. Its a gamble but lets have it decided once and for all. If this stands as it is, which would be nice for the current time, another admin or congress can change it back.
Why isn’t my USCCA involved in this topic? They should certainly be a plaintiff if They are serious about protecting my gun rights.
No NRA either. Maybe you need to be invited to the party. Not sure really. I don’t think concealed carry laws are associated with the nfa though. More of a state to state deal.
Because they spend too much time making worthless YouTube videos
