Since my 386 Night Guard is still with Smith & Wesson, I’ve decided to include the Smith & Wesson 360PD in my everyday carry revolver rotation.
Shooting steel at 7 yards to get a feel for the recoil and testing my carry ammo- Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel Lower Recoil Low Flash 357 Magnum Ammo - 140 gr.
I can only get through 30 rounds-lol. 25 rounds full magnum load and 5 buffalo bore. 7 yards, no problem with 258 gr magnum, it was a joy to shoot and follow up shots, I will need to put in a lot of training time. The Buffalo Bore 140 gr was the easiest to shoot and follow up shots- practice is needed
For $25, you might want to give the Altamont Falconia grips a try. I carry an aluminum Airwright J frame. My regular defensive round is the 125 grain Underwood +P, which feels fairly harsh, but the worst to shoot is their 158 grain hard cast hunting load. That one left a bruise in my hand for days with the stock Smith and Wesson grips.
The Altamonts are a little wider, to spread the shock, and much softer rubber. They snag clothes a little, but they’re by far the most comfortable shooting j frame grips I’ve tried.
I found Uncle Mike’s Combat Boot Grip and added the Houge OverMolded Rubber Bantam Grip this week. I’m going to test out the new grip on Sat- I will report back.
