Awesome. I appreciate it. Definitely I’d like to know what is the truth right now. All seems to be somehow covered up in few months after “voluntary upgrade”.
I’ve heard about few cases, but these happened only because the owners did not upgrade the trigger.
I’m very happy that WCP320 showed up on the market. This one will be definitely the model of my choice over regular P320 in case I’ll decide to purchase it.
This is one of the sources I found but not the primary one I found before.
here is a PDF download of the lawsuit filed.
I don’t know how reliable it is but I always check. page 25+ is where the post upgrade incidents are included. They are minor details but if they actually put it in a lawsuit, you would think that it has some merit of truth otherwise it would compromise the lawsuit.
The lawsuit covers different times that Sig knew about the issue and failed to address it for many months ect. I personally have never had an issue with the sig and even had some friends “mallet” test there upgraded ones with no issues. I am just warry that it is still an issue and I choose not to EDC that model of Sig.
The first time I ever shot a sig P320, I out shot my Glock 19 that I have put 1k rounds through. By out shot, I mean the grouping was a lot tighter.
The two cases (Roscommon, MI and Stamford, CT) of Police / SWAT discharges were before “voluntary upgrade”, and if I remember correctly that was the moment SIG realized that the problem existed.
I’m not sure about Kyle Guay, I may read it wrong, if he ever upgraded his P320.
However the list of cases after 2018 with upgraded version of P320 really scared me…
I may have to change my thinking about P320 then…
I wasn’t trying to start an issue or anything, this is just one of those things that should be known as a precaution. All we know is that the same batch of upgrades came from the same facility and it was a site issue and not a “Sig” issue. However, there are to many unknowns for my liking. The last thing I want is more accidental discharges where someone gets injured. (these issues would classify as accidental). Also, if it keeps happening, it is only fire for the anti gun people.
I have the wonderful collection of Sig Sauer P320’s, all you have to is dream.
The trigger assembly which is interchangeable has been rebuilt new and the slide was exchanged with a new slide that works very well. All in the last 2 years.
I can make 5 different models of the 3 complete P320 that I have; one is a SW .40 caliber full.
I personally have no issues with the gun feel and I actually shoot better with the sigp320 than my glock. I tagged you in this so you can read up on this and decide for yourself if you trust it. Please read the full lawsuit and any posts on here after this one I @ you in.
I know dozens of people who carry a sigp320 and have never had any issues but the fact that this was an issue for so many and they failed to do anything about it… it upsets me and I would rather not take my chance with so many issues. The p320 is the only model that had this many problems that I am aware of.
I have well over 1500 rounds through my M17-P320. No failures and dropped from belt height into gravel. It got away from me during a draw while moving during training. The weapon was not on safe at that point. The butt of the pistol contacted the ground first. It did not fire.
I also had a Sig straight trigger put in this pistol. I really think the P320 is a safe, reliable gun. To me, it is a proven, tough duty pistol.
right, did you read the entire lawsuit from July 2020 though? dozens of cases from even police having issues even while holstered and “upgraded trigger”. I personally have mallet tested 6 sig p320 that friends own and had 1 shoot. I am not saying that it isn’t a good gun. I more meant that I personally don’t want to take the chance. I am not googoo over the sig p320 and I won’t die if I don’t carry it lol. Do I enjoy shooting it? yes and it feels great I just don’t feel 100% with it.
As I stated above, maybe it was a specific warehouse that fixed a huge batch and failed to do it right meaning all other batches fixed, were good to go. We just don’t know.
I have dogs that are always walking next to me and the last thing I need is a holstered weapon going off and shooting my dog who is walking next to me (unlikely but it is my first thought).
If you have tested your sig p320 and have had zero issues and have done different tests then I am all for you carrying that gun if you want.
