Sig Emperor Scorpion 1911

Thinking about adding to the Sig family. Always wanted a 1911, and I’m a Sig guy. Any input/review/ comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I know someone that has one. I have shot it and it is simply awesome :+1:

It has never had any malfunctions from day 1. It would be too big and heavy for me to daily carry. I am assuming you are asking about the 5" barrel model.

@CMBTVT Welcome to the community. Will this be your EDC? If so, please consider the Emperor Scorpion Fastback. I have posted a couple of reviews on mine.

My EDC is a Sig 365 compact. Also have a Sig M400 AR. I am a Sig guy! I’m 6’ 4", 250…so I am strongly considering the full size. Just pulled into the local gun store, hopefully they will have both versions in stock so I can handle both.

@CMBTVT Waiting for the NICs to clear?

They didn’t have any in stock, so I have not purchased it yet. I’m in Fl and have my CCW, so that waives the 5 day waiting period. I bought my AR at the same store, in and out with it in 45 mins.

Signs are great Guns. I’m saving a litttle here and there, for a Sig 1911 Spartan.

They had the full size Spartan there, & the We The People. We The People looks awesome, but IMHO it’s a collectors piece, not something I would carry, or take to the range all the time. I’d love to have it, but practicality prevails!

I absolutely love my Sig. Scorpion! I’m a 1911 guy! Have owned 2 Kimber’s, a Colt, and a Springfield 1911. With the exception of my former STI 2011, I’ll vote Sig. I’ve owned this Scorpion for a lot of years. This is my throw it in the truck, don’t leave home without it pistol. In addition to the upgrades I’ve added to this one, the Gun Crafter Industries shredder grips are my all time favorite. They have a nice “bite” feel to my hand and fill my grip nice. I added a Wilson combat wide ambi safety, mag well & blended it into the grip frame so no snags during reloads. Added a skeletonized trigger. Did the Battleship gray when I bought pistol NIB.

I would definitely look at Sig when I buy another 1911

Ok–I don’t have one of these. I have two.
I got the commander length first–it’s my winter carry gun. It’s what’s in the bedside safe. LOVE it. So much, in fact, that I bought the 5in model with an RMR mounted and suppressor height sights.
I have a threaded barrel and a can I have used on the commander, going to get the 5in threaded barrel next.
I’ve shot three instructor quals with the commander length. Everybody looks at me like I’m MRDD, but I freaking love the 1911. I have two kimber 1911s and two sig 1911s. I shoot the Sigs (and wear them) almost exclusively–nothing against the Kimbers–one is tuned with a really light trigger, and the other is 10mm.
JUST GET THE Sig NOW. You can’t go wrong.
Strangely, I have two 938s and neither one is the emperor scorpion configuration. Hmm.
Oh well. Almost Christmas…

Agree with @Aaron25, I have no doubt the Sig will work reliably if I ever need it to despite my lack of regular maintenance. Can’t go wrong take any where 1911. Of the few upgrades on mine, I recommend Guncrafter Industries shredder grips. Ask them to leave them a little rough. The “bite” gives a secure feeling in a sweaty hand. They feel great!! I had them on my Kimbers & Springfield 1911.

I had convinced myself that I was crazy for spending more on a sidearm, than I did for my AR…but decided to go look around anyway, since they didn’t have either model on my last visit, I thought it was the stars telling me “Don’t do it”. Lo & behold, I walk in, and there it is in the display case. Emperor Scorpion Fastback Carry…just got to find some time to get to the range now…:joy:
