Welcome to the family brother @Andrew169 , glad you could join us.
I can remember when the Chicago police changed over to glock’s, there was many incident where some shot them self when placing the weapon back in the holster, they later found out it was because some did not pay attention and the string on their jacket was catching the trigger.
Confidence plays a major role in mostly everything but as most of us on here knows, there are safety rules for carrying a gun and being attentive to your surroundings and where your finer goes when drawing your weapon is very important.
Be safe brother and be confident in all you do in life.
Welcome!
Andrew, as has been stated–Sig rectified the issue. Bigger point–if you don’t carry with one in the chamber, you might spend the rest of your life racking the slide.
There are some ways to make sure you have a sig that has been fixed for the drop issue.
I personally wrote sig off over that issue (I stick to glock and M&P). However, if it was my only gun, I verified it was fixed with sig, I got some experience behind the gun to build confidence in the firearm, I would probably carry it.
I am very particular on the safety systems in my guns. What I don’t like about the sig safety fix is they essentially just made the trigger lighter. I think they should have put a safety hinge trigger like every other manufacturer does. (That’s an option, you could add a trigger with a safety built into it and problem really will be solved, but that would probably be a downgrade).
I have always been a Glock hater, but I recently became a fan because of how there safety system works, how easy it is to function check all safeties.
I won’t carry a gun without 1 in the chamber these days. Confidence in your gun is very important.
IMO it’s useless to carry a pistol for self defense without a round in the pipe. You might as well carry a dull stick.
There was a YouTube video circulating a few years ago where a convenience store owner was held up by armed gunmen. He pulled his NON CHAMBERED pistol and tried to rack one in the chamber before defending himself and an employee. He was dropped by the thugs before he ever got a chance to defend himself.
Gives one pause to consider your choices, doesn’t it?
