I’d encourage you to check if you’ve not already done so.
Good luck to you, take care & be well
I still wonder if some went off due to poor finger discipline or not checking the camber while cleaning then claiming “it was dropped”. I have dropped mags but never a gun.
I am not a fan of sig because of all of these stories. I’ve gone on it before too, Sig avoids trigger safeties and I don’t like some of their internal design choices that to me lack redundancy. I personally don’t intend to buy a striker fired sig. That being said, there are so many of them out in the world with zero issues.
I wonder what the holster set up is for some of these incidents. Are the officers using a light? In which case the holster may have a large gap around the trigger in the holster for something to get in there? Are they being issued good holsters for the firearm or are the guns rattling around in there.
I remember with Glock there was a particular holster issued to many cops that had the button to release the retention right by the trigger. That led to a some problems from what I’ve read in the past.
Welcome back to the forum @Scoutbob !
Agree with the discomfort over how Sig has dealt with some of their past issues. But also agree that it is likely that most of the issues we are reading about are holster and or user related. Sigs past handling of issues has left them more open to getting blamed every time someone else makes a mistake with one of their firearms.
Perhaps…but we have enough videos and objective video recorded tests proving that it definitely is a consistent thing across a lot of guns that if dropped/struck, they can and do fire
I won’t carry a gun that’s not drop safe. Garand Thumb had an interesting video on this. Those 1911s and 2011s including the high end ones are not drop safe
. No firing pin blocks and the striker is just held back by a spring.
Randomly firing is a whole other monster though.
But was this a base model 320/X or the M18? Because my M18 has a manual safety and the trigger can’t even move back slightly with that safety on.
Thanks! Yeah just a concern and a good one lol I prefer to carry without shooting myself ![]()
So I looked at the site and entered my serial number and it says the M18 model I have has the upgrade already and does not require or need one. So I’m assuming it’s good. Just makes me nervous with all the stories I hear and videos I see and get sent to me regarding the issue. However again, I’m not sure how the M18 model differs in this situation and if it’s just the base model P320 or the P320X.
I love the gun, it shoots great, and it’s comfortable to carry. I will just have to do more research. Chances are I’ll keep it and just get another pistol to be a daily carry. Thinking M&P or Canik in 9mm
If Sig is returning a result that indicates yours is not included in those needing a fix, I would be personally confident that it is fine. However, I do understand your concern.
You mentioned a Canik, which is my current EDC. Specifically, the Mete MC9. If there’s a range near you that rents firearms, perhaps you can see if you can use one to see how you like it.
hmmm… a firearms salesman here

I’ve read of some problems with some older Sigs. I respect those who have trust in them. I also wonder about our own human/user usage error, though.
Fan of Shawn Ryan. He’s known for giving gifts to his interviewees. But I don’t think he ever gave the kind of gift like he gave to a one Gavin Newsom. Worth watching the time marker “3 minutes thru the 6-minute marker”, I promise you. At least for the laugh and irony. Perhaps also kinda smart of Ryan.
Newsome and whitmer are 2 people i wouldnt piss on if they were on fire. Both will be running for pres in 28
Just to add, i really like shawn ryan. Most of his interviews are amazing.
