I’ve got a great idea. I’ve got an old electric fence box that has a pretty good jolt. I’m going to rig a large Amazon box and put it in front of my door camera. I hope someone tries to boost it…the video is going to be awesome!

I like that idea.
If we had a problem, I would just fill the Amazon boxes with garbage and leave them on the porch.

Looks like Mr. Rasheed, ultimately, was not indicted. However, I would suggest that setting a trap like this would be inadvisable. At least in my opinion.

There are all kinds of vids on YT of people booby trapping packages,
as long as you don’t use anything deadly or intentionally kill or maim someone no one has been charged.

Wouldn’t want to be responsible for causing any injury from the electric shock.

I think in today’s WOKE Climate with these
‘Progressive’ DA’s in the injustice system
I would think twice before ‘Setting Traps’ for
Thieves and Invaders.
Frustrating to have Packages stolen or being broken into YES!
But these people have a warped sense of ‘Justice’ these days.
A person who Home Invades (Often Armed) and is shot and
killed seems to garner more sympathy than the Home Owner
who is the actual victim.
Tough call but I wouldn’t want to ‘set anybody up’

I was planning to fill amazon boxes with my cats’ litter box contents if it ever became a problem. It solves two problems at the same time.

As much as I’d love to see videos of porch pirates getting zapped or otherwise humiliated I would be very leery of setting up traps. Even just leaving a box full of garbage for them might incite one to come back for a little revenge. I doubt those that did this would be settling for a potentially harmless prank.
Would hate to see my family at increased risk just to get a good laugh.

It’s illegal to booby trap packages. People get arrested for it all the time even if the booby trap is intended to be nonlethal.

Oh I agree it sounds like it’d be a lot of fun. I would put a juiceed, up fencer on a package too if it wasn’t against the law.

So when the thief dies of a heart attack, gets burned, or injured in anyway shape or form, you will be sued or prosecuted for your actions over a material package? Have you thought this through?

I think it is a great idea but probably to expensive just to make a point. But, you could put an itag in a package and give the police a call to let them know where it is. Makes their job easier and gets the thief a visit from the police.

They’re funny to watch, thieves stealing bicycles and scooters, who receive a jolt as they ride away.
Or, stealing women purses which shoot out paint to thief’s face when they open to look inside.
Reminds me of old school slapstick comedy.
