POLL: Are You Finding Ammo? If so, where?

Pellets? I probably have around 2,000 rounds of them including ballistic tips. About 7 different kinds and all tested from 32 yards with a 1 inch or less group with a Gamo Whisper. Do not waste your money on the yellow can Daisy .177 pellets they group around one foot and no telling as to where around your target.

hey funcycle, since you are a pellet expert, I might need more assistance. We love to shoot the blowbacks, fun training!!!

No, I just have the one I use to shoot tree rats. I have a high of 7 for 7 shots in one afternoon a few years back. I also have an old single shot CO2 that needs a seal, last time I looked a few years back it was worth $125

optics planet is backordering some 9MM Tul ammo, i think .24 a round? Tul is oily and needs to be cleaned, as it will gum up your mags! Steel casings. My 5 cents for the day…

EDIT…we have shot Tul, a little dirty smoke, but cheap for practice. I think the last time we bought some was .13 a round. REMEMBER…CLEAN THE CASINGS!

I will admit, somebody has to be the hoarder of the day! LOL

You did hear me say at least once on here that I use to shoot every day 7 days a week for about 5 years. 22 cal. 550 rds. bulk box Federal minium every day. I have at least 3 guns that have had well over 100,000 rounds of 22 cal. put thru them. The S & W AR-15/22 had 100,000 rounds put thru it in the first 8 months. I bought one case of Federal’s 550 every week and had as high as 12 case’s under the bed. The wife said what happens if the house catches on fire and I asked if she was planning on being in the bed at the time.

I managed to get two 50 ct boxes of 9mm at Tombstone Tactical yesterday and four 50 ct boxes this morning at Sportsman’s Warehouse. But still not where I want to be in terms of backup. Especially given the current turmoil. I’m sitting on about 700 rds of 9 mm currently. Want a min of 1000.

Thankfully I have ammo for my other weapons

Just got an email from Cheaper Than Dirt: “Winchester 5.56 in stock -Buy before it’s gone!”

Never buy from CheaperThanDirt. In the encyclopedia (you all remember those right?) next to the definition of “price gouger” is a pic of CheaperThanDirt’s logo.

You can consistently get M193 for $0.60 - $0.70/cpr nowadays. SGAmmo has 500 round cases of IMI M193 (good stuff) for $0.64/cpr with a limit of 2 cases.

Ive been lucky enough to find 9mm at Sportsmans Warehouse here locally over the last week or so. They limit you to 2 boxes. Had my wife go in for me to get an extra two. Might be cheating a bit but my ammo storage is pretty thin at the moment. Picked up another 200 rounds this way. $15.99 / 50ct.

Looks like SGAmmo might be a solid go-to for 5.56. thanks @Harvey !

There are a couple other threads for shopping ammo online. SGAmmo is very well regarded and is my personal “go-to” if they have what I want in stock. Obviously, right now, picking are slim no matter where you go. Ammoseek is a great aggregator of all the online stores. It’s been mentioned many, many times (including this thread) but sign up for email alerts for ammo you want at a price point you want and get notified.

Just made me look at our local Scheels. They have, for pickup, Fiocchi 9mm 115gn 200rd for $52. Just going to get serious … And its gone :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Are there people waiting for delivery trucks😁

A good article from AMMO.COM. :+1: An excellent web site with lots of information on many subjects, plus they sell ammo.

It’s possible that they are waiting for the delivery trucks. The employees call there friends to let them know. We have to be a step ahead.:+1::+1:

I just unsubscribed from Cheaper than Dirt’s mailing list. I’m aware that in past shortages, they were gouging badly, so I looked at .45ACP bulk ammo, and it was $2/round! That’s even more than the individual 50 round boxes. That’s not the type of company I want to do business with.

Fortunately my local shops are getting dribs & drabs here & there, but the prices are only increasing slightly, if at all.

Hold on to what you have right now. The range will be there. Yes, shooting is a perishable skill (to a point) but, IMO, no need to shoot what you may not be able to get back. Even if not a self defense round, a FMJ is better than nothing. Grab & get what you can until things settle down.

Sportsman Outdoor Superstore has Hornday Critical Duty, American Gunner XTP, both in normal and +P loadings. They also have a few brands of ball ammo avialable.

Lucky Gunner has Speer Gold Dot duty ammo and some Underwood on sale.

Just FYI for those who are in great need for 9mm right now. Not cheap, but avialable. Good luck all.
