We all go through a lot of ammo when we train. Every trip to the range could call for a few hundred rounds, depending on what skills we’re working on.
The stuff I carry. My RANGE ammo is usually Selliers and Bellot. I train with my carry ammo, when feasible.
Remington FMJ. In .45
I cheat, kinda, I reload for my range ammo. I have loaded my .45 to shoot like a 9mm but it really isn’t practical because it is not what I use for self-defense. It just fun to do. For hard training I +P my ammo to match what I do use for self-defense. My 9mm is matched to the self-defense rounds I use also.
I get the Remington green/yellow box of 50 FMJ for 9.99 and they work well.
Magtech. Same bullet weight as my carry ammo, 115g.
Sellier & Bellot 115grs.
Fiocchi.
Right now hard to find , so my backup is Sellier & Bellot
I love the 9mm I got from Fenix Ammunition in Michigan. Very consistant, very clean. AND, as of yet they haven’t raised prices despite the current situation. Sadly, delivery is running 4-6 weeks, but it’s worth it.
I like Winchester white box. When I can’t find that I run Blazer Brass. Sometimes Blazer Brass goes on a good sale and I’ll get that over Winchester.
Blazer 9mm luger fmj 115 gr, today was shooting 124 gr fmj.
I use the Winchester’s also a good bullet
PMC45A and 223 for all my training. Try to save defensive ammunition for insurrections.
I reload my range ammo when I shoot at ranges that permit it.
California ammo laws are so strange I try to avoid buying new ammo other than for carry or to recharge my brass stash
Whatever is cheap and brass. Centerfire usually ends up being Winchester whitebox or Blazer and rimfire usually Federal, Winchester.
Blazer Brass and Speer sometimes.
The Federal .9mm always shoots nice. That is for me anyway.
Quick question:
Is anybody like me and after like three months, you shoot your expensive ammo away and buy more?
Blazer Brass and Magtech 9mm fmj
Yes I rotate every 3 months
Using selliers and bellot now because my local range had it on sale but normal shoot freedom munitions.
