I always wanted to own a dirtbike. Thoughts on an entry level bike?
That’s an open ended question.. we have a xr100 but it’s set up for a taller rider
Any beginning 4 stroke from 100 cc to 200 cc will work.
The kawasaki klr230 is a good starter bike that won’t break the bank.
66yo, 3 days a week weight lifting, 3 days a week martial arts. Not teetotally stuff. Lifting with power lifters and body builders. (DL - 275, Bench- 205, Overhead - 135. PR’s a little lighter than usual but Immunotherapy seems to have destroyed my bod…) Martial arts with Pro and Amateur MMA fighters (I prefer training with the pros. 1 hour on bags or mitts 2 times a week, 3-5 sparring rounds 1 day a week).
Seems to work for me.
I do Tai Chi every day as an extracurricular activity. That would be after and before I do a 14-hour shift as a chef.
My brother benched pressed 1130 lbs. at the age of 62. I have seen the work he has put into getting there and there is big respect for all he has put into it.
Kudos to you too!
I was pretty strong up until I hit 65. I have a couple of power lifting trophies to prove it ![]()
I’ve never been a good runner; a 20 to 21 minute 5K was the fastest I could ever muster.
At 65 I had 6 bypasses and finally found out I genetically have small coronary arteries that could have never supported my cardio goals. I now have issues with my dominant hand that limits how much weight I can manage.
With that said, I just finished a 12 minute pace jog and still do a light 4 day cycle weight lifting “most” of the time. I have recently added cardio stress range training by jogging 50 yards, drawing and engaging multiple targets as quickly and accurately as I can, rinse and repeat.
I will turn 70 tomorrow and know I will never “feel” strong nor fast again. When out in public these days I focus on standing up straight, head up, and shoulders back moving with purpose – the dream is an observer will not know I don’t “feel” strong or fast.
That’s incredible, once you go north of 1000# you’ve gone where very few will ever go.
I saw the guy (can’t remember is name) set the bench press record at the time - 705 pounds!
I can’t even imagine supporting 1,130 pounds, much less doing a 3 judge competition lift!
I see 1000 lbs. sitting there on the floor waiting for someone to pick it up and I think to myself ‘IS THERE ANY COFFEE LEFT IN THE COFFEE POT’? Wphew! I’m ready for a nap!
12 oz. curls!
