I wouldn’t have gone outside to confront them with a gun in my hand.
I saw no indication that anybody would have attempted to enter a house/home, FWIW.
I wouldn’t hold a trespasser at gun point.
Stand your ground doesn’t mean you can point a gun at someone for trespassing.
From what I can see, someone coming into your home is very different from what is being asked about or what happened in Missouri

I’m not so sure that breaking down a gate to get into a lawn justifies killing. But I’m not a lawyer in Texas.
As for what would I do, well, I can answer that. I would have gone and stayed inside. We are safer there. If they were to break down the door to the house and not just the gate to the property, well, that’s a different story with different actions taken. I would be armed while in the home, of course (as I typically am wherever I may be)

I just can’t embrace the run and hide ideology. I’m not saying to point a gun at someone walking on my grass, that would be ridiculous. That said I’m not handing my property over to random people that have no manners, I’m standing out there, giving them the look that makes them uncomfortable, unless they bring coffee then I’ll ask them to sit a spell.

I love fishing, and just now exploring hunting, I’m learning some landowners can give permission to hunters to utilize or rent their land, but consent is required - from the land owner.
I see a sign, I don’t go in. But I realize others may not care or overlook it by mistake. Once I did in error, but the owner informed me of a couple of other public spots close by which turned out to be pretty cool.
Be careful with your words as well. It stinks that they trespass, but it’s not only your lawn. and privacy you’re trying to protect, you’re protecting your virtues of not getting into legal hot waters.
Wouldn’t want to tell you how to decide, but if it were me, I’d go the fence route in this particular case. You can still put up signs, but what you wrote on them, I wouldn’t. I’d go basic, “Private Property/No Trespassing”. Maybe video record cameras, and not confront - less altercation will occur. Not worth the risk.
Me, CCW is never shown. never divulged, unless life / limb would actually be at stake and I’m certain 12 strangers will agree. JIMHO.

I don’t think MS13 has anything to do with what we are talking about in this post.
But, you mention the neighbor who was allegedly an MS13 gang member who killed his 7 neighbors because his neighbors confronted him about his actions. So in that example (I had not heard of it), people died because they confronted a neighbor about not doing something? I think that supports the common recommendation of this thread to not confront people over this

Under no circumstances should you reveal your weapon unless and until you are forced to defend yourself. Some states have laws against “brandishing” and even if yours does not, the fact that you would pull your weapon unless the situation actually dictated that action could be construed as a threat, even though the other party was on your property at the time.
