It’s funny you say this, it only took me ONE professionally trained class to learn how much I didn’t know. Now I have hundreds of hours of professional training, spent thousands and thousands of dollars on training and now am an instructor myself.
I am so so so pleased when folks take one of my private classes and afterwards say what I said… “I had no idea what I didn’t know!”
My Shellback Initiation was August 1981…a lifetime ago. Maybe why Shellback Tactical resonates. Apparently I will have to wait 4-5 weeks for the kit to be made. At least the equipment is Berry Compliant and plates are NIJ certified. They also have their mag pouches on sale. I designed one of the first plate hangars for the USAF in 1992 and they have come a long way since then.
Reloading supplies are still readily available but the prices are creeping up. Glad I refilled at the first of the year. Still looking for Magpul BUIS at a reasonable price…
Many of us have been through some dark days on firearms availability. remember the Federal Assault Weapons Ban under Clinton? 10 yrs in no-mans land.
I FOUND SOME 9mm AMMO TODAY!!! I was at Rural King to get some feed and stopped by the gun counter because, you know, gun counter. They had two cases of Remington UMC 115 gr FMJ. Two cases. That’s only 40 boxes, but that’s a lot more than I’ve seen in one place for weeks. So I bought the limit of four boxes.
It’s interesting how this second round has affected even some of the more obscure calibers. My Fiance has a .25 ACP “fun gun” that I love to finish off a range visit with. Usually it’s not to difficult for me to find a few boxes locally, but last week I needed to stock up as we were having a range day with her brother as well. I ended up visiting 3 places before I could find any in stock, & ended up buying out what was on the shelf. The .38 spl for my brother in law’s gun (my fiancee wanted to shoot it to see how comfortable it was), was no problem… 12 boxes in 124 grain, some bulk wad cutters, and several boxes of various SD ammo. I guess it’s a good thing, as she loved it, and now we need to feed a new wheel gun ( we all know just how hungry new guns can be! :{) ).
I have noticed the grocery store aisles looking a little bare again here in Northern AZ. Not sure if it is fear of the Delta variant, supply chain issues, or the looming threat of hyper inflation?? Though at least the toilet paper aisle was well stocked!
Think some people have talked about setting up some type of market/trading place here but nothing has come of it.
It wouldn’t be very useful for your stated purpose if there was. Private party face to face transfers of firearms only work with people living in the same State in States that allow it. Otherwise you need to do the transfer through a licensed dealer and fill out all the forms.
Unless you are a criminal. Then you can do whatever you want as the laws only apply if you get caught. And even if you do happen to get caught you might get off because politicians seem more concerned these days with taking firearms from law abiding citizens than keeping them out of the hands of criminals.
