The real tragedy here is the lack of mental institutions to take care of these people and get them off the streets along with the help they need. Our government would rather send 35 billion a year to oil companies that are making billions. Then simply create good-paying jobs to house and help these people.
I almost agree with all of that. The Oils Subsidies part doesn’t really ring with me here. Around here, we had ‘that’ facility, it was called the Utah State Hospital in Provo. It was a place where the people that were completely untreatable where sent to live out a high of quality of life as possible. Then enter ACLU and others "You can’t lock these people up, many of them have committed no crimes, this is illegal incarceration… Provo pretty much shut down and now, like you said, there is nowhere to go.
Forensic Services
The forensic services, housed in a secure building, serves court-ordered individuals in six different inpatient units, a jail-based unit in Salt Lake County and through outreach across Utah jails, prison and the community.
