I actually approve of the media silence for two reasons. First, the idiots who do this crave attention. No news coverage, no attention. Second, the media coverage spawns copycat crimes. No news coverage, no copycats.
My personal analysis is that this crime was probably committed by an unhinged conservative, based on some recent coverage.
