I found a chip in the polymer by my slide release on my Shield 45 today. It doesn’t look like a functionally disruptive mark, but just wanted to see what y’all think.
Is that maybe mold flash that wasn’t trimmed?
For me it’s more like imperfection in production of $400-ish product
Another reason to switch to 9mm
It does make you wonder if polymer is not good for higher pressure cartridges, but I’d think 40 would put more stress on a gun . And 9+p still has some oomph to it.
I’m thinking this is a blemish from the factory though. I sent S&W the picture just to see what they have to say (I’m probably one of their most annoying customers ). The M&Ps are not supposed to be a budget pistol. Unfortunately I’m starting to question if they’re frames are on par to what they were when the 2.0s first came out.
I’ll probably just run it off as the gun having more character .
A wise man once told me, When you’re looking for fly shit, you’re going to find it.
Lot of wisdom there
@Scoutbob If it does not affect the operability of the gun I would not worry about it. It maybe normal ware consistent with a lot usage. I am a firm believer of, "If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Thanks for the input Johnny. Both of these guns have been %100 reliable.
You are welcome my brother.
If the car is making a funny noise, just turn up the radio😉
You are a funny dude brother @Karacal .
You must really hate S&W…
Do not worry, S&W will treat you as valued Customer anyway…
But seriously, as @Robert_M3 posted:
When you’re looking for fly ■■■■, you’re going to find it.
As it should be. If you let it slide it becomes an issue for all.
Didn’t Socrates say that?
After spending as much money on several M&Ps you better annoy the hell out of them.
