No longer able to post pics

Test 3 using the above code (hmm… looks like the forum automatically adjusted the size):

Using the width and height at 600 code:

Weird, the platform we use did an upgrade that was supposed to make it EASIER, not harder to post a photo. I’ll dig into this more.

Thanks! The code is easy enough, but might be more complicated when using a phone or tablet to contribute.

Good job @Scotty :+1:
Hopefully @USCCA will look into it and make it easier for us. :+1:

Testing the pics issue…

Does this work (Yes, it’s an ad graphic  It was easily accessible and Community appropriate. )

I’m not having any issue?

When I click that option it opens a box to upload from my computer only. There is no option for a URL. I thought there used to be. I’m pretty sure some of my older posts with pics used this option.

I see the pics you posted are from within your servers - https://global.discourse-cdn.com/business4/uploads/dd_dev/original/3X/d/e/de4cac032ce8a9eb37b0b078158c8b58e3a31259.jpeg

Could you try a pic from some place other than your servers? For example, if I uploaded a pic to Imgur (or something similar) to post here, i.e. an issue with a spring install, would it show up? Or would I have to have the pic on the device I am posting with?

This is what I see when I click on the option you highlighted:

Like @Scotty mentioned. These are two available options for now:

  1. UPLOAD PIC FROM LOCAL DRIVE
    A 2021-08-02 17-43-57

however you have to download the picture first to your local HDD and then upload it from HDD

  1. INSERT HYPERLINK (CTRL+K)
    A 2021-08-02 17-47-11

First one requires two operations.
Second one doesn’t actually display the image, until somebody click on the link:
LOGO

This is the code @Scotty suggested: <img src="LOGO">

In my option the code <img src="LOGO"> would be good to be implemented into CTLR+K option

@Jerzees if you would be so kind… wait a few hours and see if the logo you linked changes addresses.

I noticed that the Yogi and Mighty Mouse pics had their regular address shortly after posting. However, now 9 hours later, they are showing an aws1.discourse-cdn… address.

Yeap. I know this issue. A lot of pictures posted on Internet are taken down after few days.
I’m always trying to find the picture from original website, so in this case it was taken form USCCA directly… I hope it stays there… :smirk:

I try to get an image from some place that tends to store them awhile. For example the Mighty Mouse was from IMDB. IIRC, the Yogi pic is from Wiki, but I don’t remember exactly since it’s now showing the aws1… address.

Here’s also a trick… if you go to Google Images, you can drag and drop a pic from another web page or even off of your computer into the search box and it will search for that image and format.

Edit: Hmmm… when I drag and drop the advertisement pic from the moderator Google images is showing “No other sizes of this image found.”

I am surprised this forum does this, as I would think that hosting those images would get expensive from multiple user uploads over a long enough period.

No, the images are still on the original sites, it’s just that now, a few hours after I linked them, the address is showing a USCCA address when I check for the image address. When I first posted them, when opening up in a new tab it would go to the original address.
