New style of security system?

Does Aluminum Foil On Your Doorknob Keep You Safer When Home Alone? (msn.com)

I’ve got a highly reactive Aussie and Border Collie… With the doors locked and an attempt to forcibly enter the house I’m gonna know about it

Its funny that you posted this because when I was growing up in the projects some people did this to there doorknobs for that very reason because the sound alerted them. But it was the older people and I am pretty sure they wouldn’t have heard anything.

With all the Shooting, fighting and explosions I have be in, felt, experienced, the THOUSANDS and Thousands of rounds I have sent down range (WITHOUT HEARING PROTECTION) I’d need a car battery hooked-up to that door knob for me to hear any sounds once I hit the rack!       THAT is why I have carefully placed beds of cactus in front of all windows, (2) Shepard’s, Light and sound devices, My cat! …and my MOAT! (just kidding on the moat)…But, I want one! with Alley-gators!

I’m not an expert, but, if home security is being sought, I don’t think putting aluminum foil on your doorknob is going to make a difference.

Monitored alarm on all windows/doors that alerts you as well as calling out, outdoor lighting, lines of sight in your yard so people can’t be concealed while trying to gain access, reinforced locks/hinges/strike plates and the like on your doors, high security locks (won’t be bumped or picked) with good key control, door clubs or nightlock type devices, etc…these things will help.

I’d take a $10 amazon battery powered siren alarm that just makes noise put on the door before thinking aluminum foil is going to do anything

TRUTH NATHAN! Might as well make a hat out of it!

(You never know what might help you in a fight)

Tried that but it made the voices in my head echo and it was driving me nuts…

This is such a CRACKPOT idea - I had to employ a self-hammerlock to even respond to it! One of your best security devices that will seldom fail is an assertive, territorial-minded dog - even a snooty little yapper like a chihuahua, or a Yorkshire.

Yeah, I have that echo too! But if you turn the ends of the hat up, if lifts the BAD voices away to the heavens!
Besides it makes me look like a Pirate! Ayyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeee Captain!
