I want to get this off my mind–
I wonder how to train for these types of acts of violence.
Is all the training I have done even worth it?
I am not sure how I would act to protect my family and others- If something bad happened.
I am seriously questioning my preparedness- Because a 9mm might not be enough to take out a truck

Everyone should have fear. It is one of the things that keep us alive. The police have video of, I think, three people planting the IUDs that they haven’t captured. It’s 24 hours to give them time to find out who they are or where they are. The football fans will wait.

Literally nothing you can do if you were one of those unfortunate folk who were right on the sidewalk as he turned past the police cruiser!
Maybe, if you were 100 feet down the way in his path you could shove your family out of the way and put a couple rounds through the windshield of the oncoming truck?
Would that be enough? Probably not.
But insomuch as training is concerned, if you’re firing at a ramming vehicle, do NOT try to disable the vehicle! Aim for the driver THROUGH the windshield!
9mm will not disable the vehicle quick enough, but the windshield will not stop a 9mm… disable the driver and you might stop the attack.

One of my theories on training is as follows. Training for a specific scenario with a specific tool is like the tide coming into the harbor-all of the boats float higher. Your training makes you better prepared for every scenario-and least in general and at least a little bit.
Is it enough?
Nope. Not sure we can ever be trained enough.
But you’re here. That means you’re better aware and better prepared than most.
You’re a sheepdog. Keep your ears up, head on a swivel, and keep your nose constantly sniffing.
