I was doing a little snooping thinking being new since June that I was just unaware of something about “the process” of getting things accomplished. But, after getting my Regular badge awarded recently but, not my USCCA membership or Veteran / Military status I did some checking and it’s not just me.
Only 60 Regular trust levels have been granted. We are a fairly exclusive group and/or some catching up needs a to be done.
There are >40,300 USCCA Members recognized, and
726 Veterans / Military awarded.
Most all in the early 2020s just since 2018-19 with a big bulk 2021-22, and not much subsequently.
Veteran / Military just 10 in 2022, and only one each in 2023, and 2024, none since May 2024.
By contrast there are only 7 recognized USCCA Moderators.
I suspect whoever got, and keep the ball rolling on granting badges dropped out after the big push of the new millennium catch-up effort, and has not been replaced leaving a void.
So, I don’t feel personally slighted, whole categories in the last of a couple of recent years have not been granted badges.
If you have noticed any of yours missing, you are not alone. We are likely among many more than we know.
@dawn left the Community during the COVID-19 lockdowns, that’s the long and short truth of it. Dawn helped launch the Community and was very active in it. But she took on a leadership position in the USCCA elsewhere. Once the community became self sustaining the USCCA stopped using resources on it. That’s the short, cynical truth of it. It’s sort of sad to be honest. The USCCA had captured lightning in a bottle and then just tossed it away.
I LOVE this Community and all you PATRIOTS that contribute to it’s SURVIVAL.
I wish to apologize now in advance for the next comment if it ruffles any feathers.
I never gave a damn about recognition from ‘Higher’s’, Medals, Rank and now USCCA Badges.
There’s nothing wrong with any of these ‘awards’ for some it was a stepping stone to Greatness and God bless them for bettering themselves through hard work, study and Advanced Training. IF the USCCA is truly not interested in this Community anymore then just leave us be to SELF GOVERN and I would be thrilled with that…
I GET IT! Frank about the recognition of our Brother’s and Sister’s who Bravely Served and took the OATH . Without them we’d be in much worse shape than we are today.
I THANK ONE AND ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE. Your all Hero’s to me.
And fortunately it’s not a requirement here having served to be able to participate in this awesome Community. You are ALL My Brother’s and Sister’s today because of your commitment and participation in making us all better. And I Thank you all for what we are now. I don’t know what this Forum was like before the ‘Purge’ years ago, but I heard we lost some good people to it and that makes me sad. Some were ‘Allowed’ or Voluntarily came back after a period of time and I’m glad they did. This is the issue with joining/being a part of a community where we have no control over what we have here and if ‘Policies change’ can be all taken away or shut down and we have no say really about any of it. Like LIFE it’s out of our hands.
I grew up in a ‘non-traditional LIFE’, Screwed up Family (biological), My ‘Adopted’ Family turned me away from joining the Dark Side. I have praised my Mama and Papa here often because they to are unsung Hero’s. They didn’t win any awards, medals for doing Angelic stuff like saving a life that was in their bloodline. So, I must have adopted the whole process of being good, doing good without raising a fuss. No ‘participation trophies’ for this Grunt.
My Service Brother’s meant EVERYTHING to me. There were NO BETTER. I HOPE and PRAY that anyone who served experienced that also. NONE gave a rat about Medals/ Awards, RANK? HELL YES! only because it kept the sh!theads above us from messing with us the higher they got. THAT IS the PRICELESSNESS of RANK (for me).
I Adopted the Leave me alone, let me do my job without any undo hassles and Oversight from REMF Brass who felt my hair wasn’t ‘high n tight’ or my uniform wasn’t adorned with the correct (establishment) Patches. And that has been working for me to this day. At least I hope my Quiet Stubbornness is working for me these days.
The loss of those Folk’s impacted me greatly and it wasn’t until seeing you people ‘operate’ on a daily basis here that I got a piece of my life back I thought I lost forever. Thank you all for that.
I’m kind of reflective today because of the Bullsh!t Election pitting GOOD VS. EVIL. IF it gets really hairy ‘out there’ and I happen to fall I just want you all to know where I stand with you folk’s. It may just be ‘Internet Friendships’ but I feel as tight with you as I did with my Combat Brothers.
May we all be @ the table once again if this situation goes FUBAR and we loose connection for a brief period of time.
It’s been an HONOR sharing , Smokin’ N Jokin’ with you people.
***EDIT: I am ‘Reflective’ now because my life drastically changed October 1993.
I didn’t get to say GOOD-BYE to any of them or Thank them for saving my life as I was almost not of this World anymore. I don’t wish to make that same mistake again.
If that is the case (and I believe you 100% that you speakum Gospel here)
Then that makes my points of ‘Badges’ being not high on my ‘Get’ List.
If you get a certain # of ‘LIKES’ or ‘Time in Community’ you get a badge.
If you stay long enough you get a ‘Regular’ tab.
IF you are recognized by a Human! you MAY eventually get a ‘Helping Hand’ moniker…
Am I right on these?
Don’t quote me, but if I am remembering it right, Helping Hand was given to us who helped beta test the “Protector Academy” app. I could be wrong, it’s been a long time.
That may have been the original reason, that having been accomplished, I think they now give it for welcoming new members to the community. I might be wrong.
I miss Zee. Right before the COVID-19 lockdowns happened I was supposed to meet her and her husband and adopt one of her Great Pyrenees pups after the K.C. USCCA convention.
