Sounds like he “nailed” it
Got hammered…
Sounds like someone watch too much Lethal Weapon.
Bad players deserve anything that happens to them. I grew up in the world where “trespassers will be shot”. Same applied to bad players stealing your stuff. The only reason we have a problem today is we let the bad players get away with it. If every bad player experienced the ultimate fate, there would be no, and I mean no, crime. My uncle lived in the Middle East when the oil boom was going on, 50’s or so. He was informed that simple theft would end in a child or adult losing a hand for basic theft, ie. a loaf of bread. We were discussing this and he informed me that he never saw anyone without both hands. I asked why. He said, because there was no leniency, people knew it, there was no theft that he witnessed. He never felt so safe. That evaporated when he returned to So. Calif. for obvious reasons. Don’t ever put me on a jury where someone protected his stuff, nail gun or whatever, I’m my book it’s totally justified. Jury instructions be damned. The 10 commandments says “ thou shalt not steal.” There is no differentiation in punishment between murder and theft. I stand on this principle and interpretation. Our laws will probably make me show leniency with not shooting for theft, but that’s where we are just feeding a problem that would otherwise be easily solved. As a PS to this, I grew up in a world where if a Police officer said “stop or I’ll shoot” and you didn’t comply, let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be him. We need to go back to those days.
my 1st hour in country during the 1st gulf war1990. I witness a man lose his right hand because, he was caught steeling. I was told that they took his right because he had to wipe his ass and use the same hand to function in public. Not only that, but I guess it’s a major shunning.
Yes I agree we need to go back to the days of respecting other people.
