As bad as that seems, thankfully, protection of our rights trumps bad policework. The story does state they are still investigating and when more information is uncovered, will proceed. If the story stated they closed the case, that would be bad.

That is definitely bad investigative work. They should have read him his miranda warnings before obtaining his confession. He allegedly murdered 3 people and injured 20 and he walks. That is justice.

Fortunately/Unfortunately the system worked. It works just about every time. In this case this guys Rights under the 5th were violated leaving the prosecutor with no case. Maybe it’s just me, I’m about 90% certain this guy will be arrested for something else down the road, he probably won’t be on the streets for very long. Hopefully it’s for something short of hurting or killing someone.
