Montgomery County Pennsylvania, conceled carry permits and Vets who received an Other than Honorable (OTH) discharge?

Does Montgomery County Pennsylvania deny concealed carry permits to Vets who received an Other than Honorable (OTH) discharge?

Welcome MasterChiefKoch. We’re glad you found us.

I can’t say specifically about permits in Pennsylvania and OTH discharges. I do know ALL permit applicants undergo a seriously thorough background check to include Military service. I would think an OTH was not anything of a violent nature, otherwise it would have been a dishonorable, so you should be good.

Check your local and state guidelines for the permit requirements.

I would join USCCA, give them a call, they will be able to tell you the legality

Call a local gun store. They will know.

I know when I got out, our Re-Up NCO who happened to be our 1st Sargent, would threaten you with a “General Discharge” instead of an Honorable Discharge if you refused to Re-Up.

Welcome to the forum MasterChiefKoch!
Are you asking because you have had a problem getting a permit in Montgomery County?

Pa is a shall issue state, as long as you meet the application requirements and pay the fee. With regard to vets specifically, only dishonorable discharges are disqualifying events. See the requirements as listed below.

Welcome aboard @MasterChiefKoch

When I was about to be discharged, I was offered CWO, without pay and the opportunity to be stationed in the Antarctic under my rate!
After one year of service on the ice, had a choice of any station or billet around the world. I was chosen for the Antarctic for my skills, coming in 2nd in the Navy for my rate!
I was very good at what I did and I knew it.
Yes, the arrogance played a part. I declined, because no matter how high up you go, you still have to take orders.

I was tired of taking orders. At the time I could almost triple my income in the civilian sector!
However, because I was using military time and materials to seek out that lucrative position, I was denied leave for the interviews and such and never landed that perfect job! So I took the honorable and still had to take orders from the boss until I opened my own business, even then she was still giving orders!
OTH doesn’t equate to dishonorable.
