This guy…
. And THIS kinda stuff (and so much more) is what has me considering leaving the state I’ve lived in for 50+ years. Grrr! Thanks for sharing, @Karacal . I did not know about this.
Via Meta AI,the last line of the first paragraph of the description of a Binary Trigger states the following:
“This doubles the firing capacity of the weapon.”
Ummm, no. It allows the user to fire one round when the trigger is depressed and one when it is released. It has nothing to do with the capacity of the weapon. The magazine dictates the capacity. From what I gather, they are used in competition shooting to get more rounds down range quicker. It will not affect firearms that have standard semi-automatic operation. It sounds a lot like that one guy in politics that said “If you put a stock on a pistol, you have a gun and it can fire more bullets faster.”
Stay safe, everyone!
So does pulling the trigger twice as fast. This is just a way for politicians to pass more laws. It makes them look like they are doing something. It is not the weapon that has a firing capacity. It is the person using it. Just sayin. Happy New Year.
Ummm, YES.

OK, with all that copied and pasted…
This is definition 1.
This is definition 2.
An example of definition 3 would be me, pointing all the definitions out, as I am outstanding in that capacity.
I know I’m impressed.
I find the neatest thing about binary triggers is the lack of tension on the trigger release. No plans on visiting MN .
PSA has them at $250 for AR’s atm, if interested I’d grab one now as Franklin Armory has discontinued the straight/ curved only version in favor of a model with both triggers included…for a bunch more money. They also have binary trigger equipped AR-15 lowers for $300…binary, himmm, guess Tim only likes that in his voters.
Edit to add triggers are available for the same price on Franklin Armory site.
Capability or capacity? Context counts, as well as clear verbiage.
A good edit would be: “Increases the capacity of the firearm to discharge rounds.” Or “Enhances the capability of the firearm to discharge rounds in a cyclic manner.”
There is always one,… or two.
Cheers!
Please understand, Sir, even though I am attacking you with my responses, the attack is being utilized as a platform to convey the message to a much wider audience. I regret you are the one bearing the brunt of attack. I respect you to no end and I hope you can see my reasoning.
I agree with everything you stated here.
CAPABILITY would have been a better term had Meta AI thought about it. As the word CAPACITY was used, that is the word I went with. As far as the editing goes, we are dealing with Meta AI, and it is already edited. Somebody, somewhere, the guy or guys who programmed it, set the editing up the way THEY wanted it to be, therefore relieving us of the capability to do it ourselves, even though we do still have the capacity.
There is always one,… or two. Grammar Nazis, in this case.
In another post, there is a video of a so-called “Firearms Expert” from the ATF who is fumbling with a weapon. Comments were made concerning his status as “EXPERT.” I posted my own comment.
We as gun owners, shooting enthusiasts, Secon Amendment Supporters or whatever else we wish to call ourselves, are very quick to ridicule THEM, The Left, for their inability to correctly manipulate a common firearm and we are even quicker if they cannot use the correct terminology, saying things like “He/She doesn’t even know what it is! How can He/She make a law about something they have no understanding of?”
Sound familiar?
The thing that will kick us in the family jewels is the fact that THEY, The Left, are educating themselves on the correct terminology to use as a weapon against US. They will also use very simple things like your original comment about capacity and say we do not have the capacity to argue the point because we do not understand the full definition of the word.
We, The Gun Owners, Shooting Enthusiasts, Secon Amendment Supporters or whatever else we wish to call ourselves, need to educate ourselves on the correct use of the same language they are using, to be used as a weapon against them. We need to prove to them their college educations are not superior to our high school educations. We need to go back to school.
I cannot begin to count the number of times in my adult life where I have had to defend my education, or lack thereof, against some college educated idiot who thought, incorrectly, he/she/they were better than me because I never went to college. Attacking High School educated parents is a favorite thing to do for our local school district. to do. I have become very adept at proving to them their degrees are exactly dog shite in comparison to my uncommon sense and street education.
WE, THE PEOPLE, need to reeducate THEM, so that WE, THE PEOPLE, can live the lives our forefathers had envisioned for us.
We need to start doing that about 20 years ago. We are so far behind the power curve it isn’t funny.
Rant over.
And to Lux_On_Lex, I reiterate my previously stated regret.
Tim should go and collect each and every one of them personally.
I dont take offence to it. I was merely pointing out that the final statement of the paragraph was a dangeling particable and it did not extentuate the context of capacity to fire or capacity to retain a larger yeild of ammunition. To the casual, unknowing reader it would create the illusion that the firearm has a greater ability to retain ammunition capacity. Thats all.
I hate it when my participles dangle too much.
Respect. I do enjoy dealing with intelligent folks.
And hey Gary good luck to Tim doing it
That is no fun.
…he spelled dangling and yield wro… incorrectly.
Im sure MI will be next
It’s sad, really. Esthetically, MN is so beautiful. But the state govt’s decisions are far overshadowing its beauty. It’s difficult to encourage ppl to visit here now. Hoping our grassroots efforts to clean up the government will work.
60 of my 65 years in CT, watching it turn from the Constitution State to a socialist hole. Tried to stay, but wasn’t getting rid of my son’s guns and normal magazines, and wasn’t going to modify and register/re-register what I had built and bought legally before the latest law changes. It’s hard to move after your roots are so deep, but when I told Janice that we could either get another house or I could have a defense fund she got the message. My wife has said the following about our move to WV. 1) it feels like we’re on vacation 2) it still feels like we’re on vacation 3) we should have done this 10 years ago.
All I know is I live on a road that says North/South but goes East/West, head South to hike North Fork and head North to shoot on South Fork …and I’m okay with that lol.
I don’t see why I would ever want such a trigger on any of my firearms. The second round would be wildly off target.
That said I don’t judge others who would want such a novelty.
MN also passed a law mandating health insurance cover “gender affirming” (see delusion affirming) care.
I also read an article saying that MN Democrats are worried they will not be able to pass many laws next session because they lost so many seats.
They don’t realize how much of a good thing that is.
That is so encouraging for me to hear!! Thank you for sharing that!! I honestly can’t imagine living anywhere else, but if TT gets reelected as governor next go around, I know we are truly sunk. It’s nice to know that starting over isn’t necessarily always bad!!
