Bodyguard 2.0 is a great choice for a small firearm… much better than its predecessor.

Also, If anyone is interested in really good kydex holsters for pistols with tactical light/lasers check out WERKZ Holsters in Potlatch, ID. They specialize in IWB and OWB holsters to carry firearms with lights. They just came out with the “Bisect” model of IWB EDC holster for several model guns. I have one for my MC9LS. I hardly know it’s there and I carry it all day.
Make sure you try shooting the bodyguard 2.0 as a rental. It’s just too small for me. I could shoot it fine, but not enjoyable. Some love it though.
I have an MC9LS and with the sale at PSA I’ve thought about getting an mc9 for easier conceal ability. Not necessary but tempting.
Good day to you, Eric, and welcome to the community!
Sound advice and Welcome!!
Welcome!
I dry fired a TP9, a MC9L, and a MC9 at a store this week because I was considering an MC9. The TP9 and the MC9L triggers felt identical, but the MC9 triggger “felt” markedly different - and not in a good way. The salesman said it wasn’t my imagination, nor was the MC9 in my hand a lemon. He said that’s just the way all the MC9’s are. BTW, this is a high volume store … so, my advise is check one out in person if you can before you place that order. You might like it, or you might be like me and not.
I shot it at the rental range. No issue with the trigger, but it’s a bit small. Therefore I purchased an MC9LS which I love. But carrying it around I realize a little smaller and easier to conceal would have its place too.
I did buy an mc9. No trigger issues but numerous return to battery failures despite a long break-in with NATO rated rounds as recommended. Canik even smoothed out the feed ram, recleaned/lubricated and sent me a new spring installed. Decreased the failures 50% but just not reliable like the MC9LS. Sold the mc9.
i am sorry to hear that, A person can train themselves to deal with a trigger that might not be exactly what they want, but repeative return to battery failures are not what one wants from a self-defense carry piece.
I ended up buying an FN Reflex XL that I carry on longer driving trips, but an old faithful Sig P938 is my primary go-to EDC for local running around town.
The FN Reflex XL is almost identical size-wise to the MC9LS:
