So, magazines to me are like crack to a drug addict. Specifically AR pattern 5.56 mags. They are plentiful, and everywhere. They’re not that expensive and make great investments. They’re so many brands, and I love 100% of them. I have more then enough already… but I can’t help but buy more whenever I see them. I’m sure it’s just a phase. No need to worry.

My friends and family think I have that problem also cause I don’t want to unload my defense mags I always by at least 4 for each gun so I can go ranging cause unloading my defense ones is stupid lol
Yes, you have a problem. Fortunately it can be treated. You just need to give away some of those mags to your buddies. Ideally you give them ones in calibers they don’t already have or for firearms they don’t have so they are encouraged to get something new.
No…it’s not just you. If I’m browsing and not in the market for anything in particular, at least a few magazines or a box or two of ammo finds its way into my basket.
I have a Springfield XDM 10mm i put on layaway. When i went in to make another payment the shop had 6 magazines in stock. I asked if i could add to the layaway and got permission. I came back with all 6 magazines to add.
Owner asked me why i need that many and i replied: training magazines and carry magazines and i really like to shoot. I always carry two spare magazines.
He asked what i was afraid of to which i replied: politicians and rust.
I’m getting two of those magazines for free now lol
At a minimum I like 6 magazines per platform. For my M1 A’s I had to go through dozens of magazines to find those that would put rounds 1,2 & 3 in the same place so I have a few of them. For my AR platforms they can be just as finicky so I also have a few of them. My pistols are not as finicky but 6 is a good number. If anyone has any LAR Grizzly MK1 Magazines in 45 Win Mag laying around I am short a few.
My general rule of thumb is that I can go through 3 mags for every one you can load so I need enough to allow you to keep up with me for a bit. Just bring me the ammo cans and keep jamming mags and we’ll be OK.

I found them for 5.00 each at the military surplus. Can you have too many magazines? I do not think so!
A few years ago i was making trips to my local Mil surp store. I found that he had cases of mags AK and AR. Most were used. I was getting them for 7-8.00 ea. Went and got some Magpul followers. There was a guy on you tube that was re furbing them. I installed all of the with Anti tilt followers. I ordered the coating off line that Military uses. They all look new and function new
I acidentally Removed my own post. But yes mags can be had at great deals. Dont have to buy new. Replace a follwer here and there.And maybe a spring. Dont have to coat them. But it is cool to have them look new with a Mil Spec coating

Got all my ar mags for under $10 when i started collecting them. Magpul, Hex, Amend & some aluminium d&h. All polymers are series 2. Figured that was a good price.
And one presidential candidate wants to put them under NFA and collect a $200 tax stamp for each one… Vote, or that could be your new reality…
I’m not paying a penny. Bearing arms is a right in this country.
Enjoy your addiction while you can. Some of us live in states that don’t allow us to buy real magazines. Picking up a short little stub of a 10 round magazine at the gun store just isn’t as much fun as collecting the real thing.
I use to live in one of those states… they still fight in the courts.

Well, my handgun takes 13 round magazines, and I just ordered 2 17 round mags for it, and will probably get more. But no, I’m not addicted to magazines, everyone ought to own 10 or 15 for their favorite weapon.
