Guns are for saving lives. I don’t think this man saved anyone’s life.

He WAS jumped from behind and looked like being choked on the ground. Should he have just tapped out?

That would have been a better option. The other two guys look like they were handling him. They could have got him under control. The three of them definitely. It is not like he was loosing the fight. I think he wanted to play hero. I think he lost his self control for a few seconds. I think he regrets it. He is only human.

Maybe in hindsight … but u ever been attacked from behind like that? If the guy pulled a knife or gun while on his back, then what? He couldn’t see or know what he is being attacked by… making matters worse tho, is the fact he being charged with violating the mans constitutional rights… of what? Attacking a peaceful protester?
I think your imagination is playing games with you. That was not the setting. It was not like he was in a dark alley and some thugs attacked him. I do feel for the guy. The fact that he didn’t know what was going on should have been enough reason not to draw his gun. When one has a hammer everything looks like a nail. I carry a gun to protect life not my rights.
