I still fail to see how this ties Mr. Ayoob to a Leftist ideology.
Try giving information to the gubment which they can then twist to arrest you. Iâm surprised with all your anti cop rhetoric you didnât pick that up.
Ah, I see what youâre getting at now. But still that has nothing to do with the Left or their misguided Marxist gibberish.
That has more to do with you and deciding whether or not you will speak to the police. Thatâs entirely up to you. I choose to remain silent as well⌠But on the other hand, if Mr. Ayoob or someone as uniquely qualified as he is by my side in my hour of need and he tells me to say this or say that to the cops, well, I would likely take that advice.
Under a Leftist ideology, under a Leftist regime â you will not have that option.
In fact you will have no options at all.
Under socialism, the Individual has no rights. Period. Under socialism, the State is King, Lord, Master and God.
Mr. Ayoob and plenty of other instructors do advise others on when you should and should not talk to the cops and what you should and should not say and when you should and should not say it. I highly recommend you explore these talks. He is very articulate and careful about what he is telling the listener.
I am not sure when this video was made, but you do NOT have to inform LEO if you are carrying in Ohio anymore. That changed. You do not have a duty to disclose unless they ask now.
What Iâve been told and again because a body has to do that in one of these things WHAT IVE BEEN TOLD and no I donât have names and dates is that when they are running your name and such or whatever those people do it comes up that you have a permit or not in this state at least and IDK about anyother state but here what the word if that the officer â appreciates â it if you tell him. And Ayoob just tries to keep you out of jail with some learned advice about the best way he knows to teach you in a few minutes of a video and I know some of it sounds kinda oh idk strange I guess. One time I was watching him on my fone and he was saying how he enters a speedway or something like that you know gas and coffee and things like that and he said he kinda enters from a corner after checking everyone out to see who could possibly pose a threat and I almost cracked up visualizing him or anyone sliding around the corner, I mean I have the mindset that anyone could be a threat but Iâm not obvious about it and stuff and itâs good to always be aware of your surroundings and all but Iâm not going around with my hand on me carry thing ya know. But to each their own.
I can dig it. But you really ought to try one of these:
I donât get it but I donât care a thing about writing with clarity and all that BS, Iâm not penning War and Peace here nor do I care much about spelling correctly and most people on these things know what Iâm saying but thereâs always one that seems that they have the need to correct someoneâs penmanship or what have you and thanks for the advice or put down whatever it was but Iâll be God damd if Iâm going to read some f***ing book about how to write with friggin clairity for a chat room. God some people got to ruin everything. Go to hell and go insult someone else
I wasnât being insulting. It was just a suggestion. âThe Elements of Styleâ is a classic and a good read.
âWar & Peaceâ and my man, Dostoyevsky rules!
Though, I gotta tell ya, my favorite book of his: âWriterâs Diaryâ.
Hard to find. But worth finding. Highly recommended.
For Gods sake, I give . Only you know how it was meant , why donât we just forget about it. Just talk about what this forum is supposed to be about.
And PS . If I was wrong I apologize because I have never been to good to do that or admit when Iâm wrong
@Lawrence107 Welcome to the community!
Sounds good. Cheers.
If Mr Ayoob would leave it at ways to help you be observant and helping you keep a defensive mindset would be one thing. To each his own, if you find value in what he says carry on. I only feel like we as a community are letting the left set our narrative. Letting the people that donât want you to have a gun set your narrative is never a good thing. I feel as if he feeds into the leftâs narrative and not the 2Aâs.we need to set our own narrative and be able to defend it.
Oh yeah, a basic college staple, âThe Elements of Styleâ.
In principle I agree with you, but there are also pragmatic aspects of a situation the be considered. It depends on your immediate goals (how the traffic stop ends) versus your long-term goals (supporting/restoring 2A rights). It may be very difficult to achieve both at the same time.
I believe that Massad Ayoobâs advice is intended to help negotiate a traffic stop with the goal of you driving away to continue going about your business, with or without a citation. Bear in mind that, even in the reddest of states, you may be dealing with a left-leaning officer, and/or investigator, and/or prosecutor, and/or judge, and/or jury, if things go that far. Framing your position in language that doesnât come off as extreme or antagonistic to someone who has (temporary) authority over you may be a strategy to maintain your rights without creating a worse outcome for your self while still stating your beliefs. What I donât believe is that he (Ayoob) intends is a capitulation to the left. The larger 2A debate is not going to be won by arguing with a patrol cop on the side of the highway.
I agree wholeheartedly. At the same the officer has to respect my constitutional rights. Being âmouthyâ is a sure way to get a closer look which might not be in your favor. As Iâve said before; show the required documentation, repeatedly say âofficer I donât answer questionsâ, keep your hands always where they can be seen and if pulled over ask if youâre free to go and RECORD EVERYTHING. You can only be held long enough to be given the ticket. Donât give the LEO any reason to hold you longer.
I can certainly see what youâre saying, but still
would never attribute any of it to Mr. Ayoob. What heâs doing there is advising people to follow the law, to the letter wherever possible â and keep yoâ azz outta jail. And what a tedious business that is! Tricky sh#t.
Now if youâre attributing this to politics, yes, the Right does grovel to the Left in our Congress of baboons. Youâre certainly onto something there. The Uniparty Right Wing Socialists are there to help the Uniparty Left Wing Socialists get Gun Control done. Pandering, groveling, lickinâ that big fat sloppy cottage cheese Leftist butt. You have got 'em there, to be sure.
Itâs why iâm a GOA (Gun Owners of America) fan. They take the no compromise approach and narrative.
Agreed, we as gun owners should have: no registrations, no permits, open or concealed carry in all 50 states, unabashed, unashamed, unapologetic for what we do. We need be 100% Patrick Henry on guns â and all of the Bill of Rights, for that matter.
What I was saying in the beginning was Ayoob was just trying to convey how to not accidentally get your head blown off by a cop who is on the passenger side of the car seeing you going for your gun because he couldnât hear the other officer ask to see your firearm because of a noisy highway, it has happened according to Ayoob and I doubt he would lie but I canât guarantee that either. But if I have gotten myself pulled over and the cop on my side asked to see my firearm before I went to unholster it and there was another cop on the other side I would make dang sure he knew what was going on first. And as far as copping a attitude with a cop I would never do that because itâs a losing fight there, follow his/her instructions and if you dislike something deal with it later because you will lose that battle real fast. I donât even get pulled over around here anymore and if or when I do anywhere they take my info and go to their car to see if ur wanted or anything and then they come back and say â youâre 60 sun yrs old and have no police record? Get the hell outta here ( laughing pretty much ).
That sure can get dicey, and go south quick.
