Consider the idea that a third party, properly presented to the voters, could siphon off just enough votes to prevent either of the other two from having control of one or both houses of congress. Any legislation would then require some cooperation between at least two parties.

Isn’t that how the UK does it. Several different parties, philosophically speaking, that join/gang up to endorse or oppose the 3-4 factions?

That is all we need, another registered voting party to further confuse the already confused voters here in the good ole US of A. We already have at least 12, so one more couldn’t hurt, right?
Maybe I can make up my own political party. I could call it the “STAY OFF MY LAWN!!” party and have Horace Nebbercracker as my mascot. Or maybe I could call it the “GRUMPY OLD FART” party and have 811 on a flag as my mascot so I could remember who to call before I dig to bury all the bodies who step on my lawn.

Elon and Trump had a messy divorce, they are certainly not faking this fight since it’s destroying Tesla and SpaceX.
Lot of good replies here but I’m most intrigued by yours Pop. Controlling 5% of congress or the senate is akin to having controlling shares in a large corporation - which is what government is. IMHO he’s not doing it for the money, It’s political greed.

He is all about the power, both political and financial. If he can control spending by having his party hold the keys on what passes, he can also direct where that money is being spent for stuff like Space and electric vehicle tax breaks.
