I’ve read that Friday Jan. 30th is being targeted as the “No School, No Work, No Shopping, yada yada” day. I think it’s a good day for me to pick up the S&W 1854 Lever action rifle I’ve been on the fence about… Now to decide .357 / .38spc or .44 mag… Decisions, decisions..
These people act like petulent children. Throwing tantrums if they don’t get their way instead of making a valid argument or working to actually improve anything. As my memaw would say, “They ain’t right.”
They gotta have their 15 minutes of fame.
there was one last week on the 23rd that nobody noticed ![]()
I’d say if you have a revolver in one or either of those calibers get the rifle in that same caliber. If you have both calibers in revolvers then maybe you just need to buy two rifles
I hope the city i work in takes this idea very seriously. Traffic is a b!tch on fridays for the evening commute. Everyone stays home, i would love it.
If there’s a way to get outta work…dems will find it. Just look at the Senate and Congress.
It must be meant to be… found a S&W 1854 in 44 mag locally… not the Stealth Hunter version, but still one on my radar… Might have to stop over at lunchtime…
With the dimple in it. That is some amazing gun, it can shoot a 12-guage and send the shell down range, too. ![]()
Mine has an over 44 and 12 gauge under ![]()

Didn’t know. Side note, why I might like the .44 more — is if I ever needed to hunt mid to large game/deer, I wonder if the .44 is more ethical and offers less need to then track the game down - post shot.
Whereas if the rifle need was more of a self defense, travel or homestead tool, I can see .38/.357 being faster back on target, I guess.
My humble search yield:
“Both the .357 and .44 Magnum are effective, versatile choices for deer hunting, particularly within 100 yards. The .44 Magnum provides superior knockdown power, larger wound channels, and better performance on larger deer. The .357 is better suited for closer ranges (under 75–80 yards) with less recoil and cheaper ammo, while the .44 is more effective for long-range hunting (up to 100-150 yards).”
IDK.
Magnum, Remington Magnum size ![]()
Don’t choke him, silly; put the magnum on your willy. It’s been my motto since they first came out.
Happy anniversary
! Here’s to another year with the clan under your belt!
