No, the extractor is stuck, as if pushed back.
My Ruger was bad right out of the box, which I didn’t mind as much because a pistol is easier to ship than a rifle and it was <$200. But I will say that Ruger customer service was the WORST gun manufacturer customer service I’ve ever worked with – so much so I will never buy a Ruger again; I didn’t mind it being broken right out of the box, but the lies they told me when I sent it back showed their true colors.
It sounds like it’s the extractor not the ejector. The ejector is usually an easy fix.
It’s the bolt assembly, they need to replace the entire thing, most likely out of speck
That sucks.
Update: When I tried to get the gun fixed under warranty, Bergara sent me a small kit of parts that is apparently the parts they said I need to fix my gun. No instructions. I followed up and they recommend I watch Youtube videos on repair of a different manufactuer (but similar they said) gun. Or I could take it to a gunsmith. Well of course I could get a professional to repair it, but that defeats the warranty, and probably voids it if I had to guess. Still going back and forth with them. My last email was more terse, but shocker just as sardonic. We’ll see I guess. Wish I had listened to some of you good folk… Coulda-shoulda-woulda… I suppose…
What a runaround.
My experience with Barrett was the exact opposite.
I broke the gun, figured out what I did wrong ( it’s in the operator’s manual too! 100% my fault )
They paid shipping both ways, replaced the damaged $500 buffer, and inspected the gun fully…. Zero cost to me… ![]()
and they even sent the damaged parts back to go on my wall of shame. ![]()
Welcome to 2026, the year customer service dies, oops, I meant ‘unlives’’
Thank you for sharing your experience, helps me narrow down the list of manufacturers for my next purchase.
