Guns in the News: Governor DeSantis Expands 'Stand Your Ground' in Florida | USCCA

After pledging to crack down on “violent and disorderly assemblies,” Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has drafted legislation which expands on Florida’s “stand your ground” law. His proposal would increase the list of “forcible felonies” under Florida’s self-defense law to justify the use of force against people who engage in criminal mischief that results in the “interruption or impairment” of a business, and looting, which the draft defines as a burglary within 500 feet of a “violent or disorderly assembly.”

Phil Reizenstein stated. “It’s bad policy to enact criminal statutes for transient political issues.::::

Excuse Me - - - I can’t think of a better reason ,. . . Provide Law Enforcement with effective tools to PREVENT and DISCOURAGE and DEFUSE things like the BLM ( Burn; Loot; Murder) , and ANTIFA (Anti First Amendment) “Mostly Peaceful Protests” that leave blocks, businesses, and people decimated.

“Mostly Peaceful” “Transient Political Issues” have lasted for months in Washington and Minnesota.
No Thank you!.

AND - ANY POLITICIAN who advocates and/or votes for any form of “Defund” or “Rethink” the police should IMMEDIATELY lose any and all Police or Private Security Protection paid for anyone except themselves, PERSONALLY.
