I agree with Mr. Plastic on this point. I am an avid believer in the RKBA for a) self defense against criminals ( including the criminal types that invaded the US Capital Building ) b) in the event of major civil unrest ( seems to be increasingly more likely from both the left and the right) c) the very unlikely emergence of an actually tyrannical government ( one similar to what our founding fathers rose up against, not just because I happen to not like it that either the Dems or the Republicans are in power ). More to Mr. Plasticās point, while we have a right to have our guns, it is a good bet that for 95% of the folks on on these chats, they are not essential for protection against crime because few of us are ever directly confronted with any. And as I have said here many times, at the end of the day, our firearms are not our primary protection against true tyranny, our democratic institutions are, so letās not continue to tear the foundations of that down.
Just a clarification. I did not mean to say that the RKBA is limited to the three items I mentioned. We have a right to have firearms for any legal reason we want, hunting, collecting, shooting competitions etc.etc. And also, the statistics provided by Reloader54 does serve to dispel arguments that legally owned guns are the cause of " gun violence"
Excellent article. Thank you! This should be published on the front page of every conservatve newspaper and the lead for every conservative talk show host⦠It just proves the point of responsible gun ownership and contradicts the lies of treasonous elected officials who push for more gun control. The 2nd Amendment is quite clear.
