I’m sorry, but this has got to be fake news, for as we all know, schools are gun-free zones, and therefore the alleged car jackers couldn’t have been wielding firearms.

Vehicle is an extension of the home. Since the law “gun free zone” doesn’t apply to residents within the zone I would assume it would not apply to the vehicle as well.

The carjackers were not in their extended home at the time. No, the law specifically states that one cannot have a firearm in one’s vehicle on school property. There are at least some states that “allow” one to have a firearm in your vehicle, if you are a CC holder, while dropping off or picking-up your children.
