Hah! Youâre assuming anyone in D.C. gives a sh!t about our hearing.
I think that generally the same people who want suppressors banned (not just NFA, but banned, therefore wonât let them come off NFA regulations) would rather just ban the guns entirely. Their solution would be to just turn in your guns to protect your hearing.
So, as much as I would love suppressor to get deregulated like thisâŚpitching it as hearing protection for people who shoot is going nowhere because the ones who want the restrictions donât want us shooting to begin with

When I started shooting nobody believed in hearing protection. You go shooting, lose some hearing, music levels go up when listening to music, and it becomes a never ending cycle until today youâre my age and deaf without hearing aids. What I wouldnât give to have had suppressors in those days! If have one thing to ask our liberal friends, why do you insist on mufflers on cars? So whatâs wrong with a little noise? I couldnât agree more, this is not a crime issue but a hearing health issue. Iâve been using hearing aids for going on 20 years. I canât justify the need without realizing that my love for shooting may have been the catalyst leading up to this hearing loss.
It would be nice if the hearing Doctors can write prescriptions for suppressors for health reasons, and have health insurances cover them!

This, ATF must constantly remind us little folks that we should be delighted to be beholden.
Unfortunately, our politicians who created these over burdensome laws were, and remain, mired in the visions manufactured by Hollywood and its ilk.
The word needs to get out that dramatic, violent misrepresentations of NFA appliances and their use in action films and TV shows is largely fantasy.
