Failure to lock back/ slide release

Ive been revisiting a lot of fundamentals. I’ve decided to make the jump and move my right thumb out of the way. I was worried about accuracy being lost, but so far not by much. It’s just about retraining those fine motor skills. So now my hand moved from the safety to over my hand.

I am jerking a little in anticipation (it does feel different), so I’m not to 100%, but I am shooting comfortably accurate for self defense shooting. More precision will come with getting used to the new hold.

It’s always a pain to make changes like this because it leads to a slight feeling of digressing, BUT I think this is the optimal hold because my slide locked back every time today. This hold will also work with any gun I find my way across.

Just gotta put in more reps and retrain!

Nice post series, I like the thought process you used. I am hesitant to change how I do things for the same reasons you mentioned.
