Her last statement,
“I couldn’t necessarily really register the threat ahead of me, so [I] definitely wouldn’t advocate fighting back,” she said. “Losing a life over a phone is definitely not worth it

The magazine was full when she got it out, I wonder why the thief didn’t shoot her, not chambered?
Or the thief’s gun was one of those horrible designs that doesn’t let the gun fire unless a mag is fully inserted?
Gonna guess, gang related?
None of that shows anything beyond people running and shots fired.
Guessing the car in motion initiated the fire as a drive by?
I’m not sure if it was the first car that stopped in front of the Jeep or the guy that ran out of the store to the left.
That situation is too complicated, too many people firing.
I would have ducked for cover and held my weapon at ready.
Not my circus, not my monkeys,…
You swing from your tree, or I’ll cut you down!
I think this needs to be in the Georgia Department of Tourism brochure ![]()
Just like any night in Albuquerque…what’s the big deal?
Don’t go out at night in New Mexico
There is NOTHING out there worth dying for.
Yup. No s__t, absolutely agree. Assessment of your situation is critical. 'Nuff said.
Well said Don 102
I know your feels on that, Brother.
I was stationed at Cannon AFB up in Clovis for a couple years and it wasn’t “too” bad to be a white boy there. I actually married a local girl and was all of a sudden related to more than half the town. I felt like a made man after that.
That was 30 plus years ago, though, so things may have changed. I no longer have that particular Wife, the ring I bought her, the pistol I sold to buy the ring or the Bronco I had.
Clovis is just a bad memory now.
I really miss the pistol and the Bronco.
Oh God! I needed that! Thanx Bruce.
I met my dearly departed on Kirtland AFB in the mid 90’s. She was a Local also
Looked awesome in Desert Camo’s (and out) ![]()
Requested to serve (for however long that would last till they changed their minds-‘-Higher’s’?)
who can predict their decision making process. I was a physical/mental wreck and she Took care of me, saw something in me, she changed me, brought me back.
I still have the ‘Vaquero’ she bought me (will NEVER give that up) .44 Mag–S/S! Gorgeous (Like she was)
Albuquerque/NM in general was a better State back then. White Sands Missile Range, Chimayo (up north) Aztec Ruins, Running the Rapids on the Rio…nice. SAFE! and they ruined it all. Till WE TAKE HER BACK. Thanks again Brother,
We lived in Tome in the 90’s. Loved the area loved the people out where we lived. Did a lot of work at Intel, SNL, Kirtland and further out LNL. My sister in law moved down there last year, somewhere around UNM, she hates it, can’t wait to get out.
Yeah Bud, I am sorry to here that. Not the nicest of areas down there.
I don’t blame her for wanting to leave Paradise on the Rio.
My Sister actually said two nights ago
if the General offers me a position on his Ranch we should think about taking it?
SHOCKER!
She thinks his health might be shaky because he hasn’t anyone to take care of.
(She’s smart that way)
I never thought about leaving Cactus Junction…but… Hey, never say never, Amirite?
Hmm… too many variables when you grab a perps gun, especially at arms length. I’d consider your second tactic first and just give them what they wanted but like you said, you’d have to be damn sure they’re not gonna put one in your stomach after you fork over the money. As Enzo says, it’s a second by second decision and you better be f__king sure you make the right one.
Addendum. If the second situation presented itself and you threw your wallet on the ground giving you a second or two (in the clear) to draw and fire, then, all bets are off. I’d fire as much lead as I could in his direction until the threat ceased. No pun intended.
The guys I train with, Some SF Some Blackwater refer to
as 50/50. I other words, your in a heap of
by then. So one has to ask, do I go for the weapon or do I leave it in the hands of the guy that pulled it out and pointed it at me for the purpose of committing an armed crime, or worse.
The fact that he shot her while engaging in a firefight - after she fired the first shot - I believe shows his intention to use the handgun.
Yeah, but was he trying to escalate or de-escalate once she fired? I think it is all hearsay. I think the question is, did she fear for life or losing her property?.
