I wouldnt stop. Id try and evade but wouldn’t stop. That’s rule #1 when your compromised in a situation like that. You stop and your dead, Besides, on the video I watched there was no wake, so it was stopped for a while

The thing is, by expressing outrage that we’re sinking his drug boats, he’s admitting that he’s the one sending the drugs here and supporting the cartels. He should be disowning them and distancing himself, but he’s proving who he really is.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. military carried out another strike on a suspected drug vessel off the coast of Venezuela, killing six suspected smugglers.
“Under my Standing Authorities as Commander-in-Chief, this morning, the Secretary of War, ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility — just off the Coast of Venezuela. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking narcotics, was associated with illicit narco-terrorist networks, and was transiting along a known DTO route,” Trump wrote Tuesday on Truth Social.
“The strike was conducted in International Waters, and six male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike,” Trump said. “No U.S. Forces were harmed.”
The strikes come after the White House sent lawmakers a memo Sept. 30 informing them that the U.S. is now participating in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug smugglers.
Additionally, it comes on the heels of four other fatal strikes against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean since September.

Fishing is different than being in a gofast hauling drugs, especially when they know our military is after them.
As for the wake thing. If your cruising and shut off throttle, it still takes a little bit for the wake to subside. That boat was stopped for a few minutes before the video started. What led up to that point before the video started? Who knows.

Trump vows to stop Venezuelan drug traffickers by land, approves CIA operations
President Donald Trump suggested the United States’s recent strikes on drug traffickers in Venezuelan waters will now also be coordinated within its borders.
The Department of War had been striking alleged drug trafficking boats within Venezuela’s vicinity despite the country’s opposition to such activity.
Trump told reporters that the U.S. is “certainly looking at land” strikes in Venezuela "because we’ve got the sea under control.”
He noted the Navy stopped drugs coming from the sea, "but we’re going to stop them by land also.”
Trump also said he authorized CIA operations within Venezuela because the nation “emptied their prisons into the United States of America” and flooded the U.S. with drugs.
Any strikes on Venezuelan land would likely prompt a harsher response from the nation than the public rebukes it has already issued.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the Trump administration of plotting regime change.
He ordered the mobilization of the military, police, and a civilian militia to defend Venezuela’s “mountains, coasts, schools, hospitals, factories, and markets” on Wednesday.
The president confirmed another strike on a drug vessel off the coast of Venezuela on Tuesday.

They could have been stopped for only seconds. I’ve been an ocean boater for about 20 years, and boating in general since I was a kid. On a, say, 40’ go fast, at, say, 30 knots in the open ocean, the wake tip is going to be maybe 30-40’ behind the transom typically. That wake is also moving at 30 knots. So, suddenly cutting power, the boat will come off plane and stop in just a few seconds, but that wake will contine at 30 knots, slam into the transom, and dissipate in seconds. Any remaining surface waves will blend and dissipate with the normal ocean chop.

My opinion of it all.
I personally know 3 people who have overdosed and died from illegal opiates in the last decade. 5 of my neighbor’s kids became hooked on illegal opiates while in high school. They have led a bleak existence, going from homeless to prison. 2 of my neighbors are retirement age like me, but are now raising their grandchildren.
There were 105k overdose deaths in the USA in 2023. 105,000! 288 every day! 12 people every hour! We can’t go on like this.
Trump is the first political leader to take this seriously. Everyone else just threw money at the problem, or started yet another addict recovery program that never works. The source must be identified and eliminated.
I don’t care if they blow up the boats, shoot down the aircraft, target cartel operations with cruise missles, or assassinate cartel leadership with special forces. The cartels must be treated like terrorist organizations.

“It was my great honor to destroy a very large DRUG-CARRYING SUBMARINE that was navigating towards the United States on a well known narcotrafficking transit route. U.S. Intelligence confirmed this vessel was loaded up with mostly Fentanyl, and other illegal narcotics. There were four known narcoterrorists on board the vessel. Two of the terrorists were killed. At least 25,000 Americans would die if I allowed this submarine to come ashore. The two surviving terrorists are being returned to their Countries of origin, Ecuador and Colombia, for detention and prosecution. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike.
