SG Ammo and Lucky Gunner both have some 9mm in stock right now. Not cheap, but available.

As a novice, I was interested in finding the best as well, and put some work into it. Even down to its name. I think I even purchased the weapon around the size caliber I wanted. From even how both my ammo and weapon would be scrutinized in court, should I ever had to have used. Over time, as I learn more, I imagine I might change my preferences. More recently, shortages might limit what we can find.

I read about some benefits from the following:

  • JHP
  • “Less penetration” instead of deeper or too much penetration to avoid thru & thru shots risking injuring a bystander
  • Those hallow points which are filled in with a filling which helps penetrate winter layers for when in colder climates
  • Those which are less likely to jam if yours is semi-auto
