Good day and welcome to you, Jason!

@TNPhil ,
I used cross draw few years ago, carrying my CZ75 P01.
Holsters was bought from Tucker Gun Leather.
I used: Deep Carry DC-3 Belt Holster and Deep Carry DC-1 Holster Configured
I’m pretty sure you can find their holsters for all 3 of your firearms.
I don’t know what are your holster preferences, but these are neither kydex, nor leather. I’d say these are combination of both materials that is gentle to your firearm.
Holsters are made from boltaron, which is harder than kydex and super resistant to impacts and deformation. Inside layer is made from leather to prevent firearm’s wear. These are only friction retention and adjusted with set of screw(s).
These hostlers are fully adjustable for high / low ride and cant angle.

Found this 1791 Gunleather holster online today and rather impressed. Anyone have any experience with this brand?

1791 has a great craftsmanship, no doubt.
I don’t know this particular holster, but few years ago I bought their holster for my 1911… and never used it, because top was soft and collapsed after pistol was drawn. It was super hard to reholster my firearm without opening the holster’s pocket with the other hand.
That time I didn’t know much about quality holsters so probably it was my mistake and lack of attention.
I hope the model you chose has hard top and keeps the same shape with and without the firearm.

Over the years I’ve be owned a few of their holsters. Zero complaints.

I carry a revolver in a 1791 OWB holster all the time. I’ve had it for years, and it’s held up perfectly. It gets a lot of use and seems very well made, plus, it fits the gun perfectly. It holds its shape nicely, so reholstering is easy. It’s probably my favorite holster and the one that gets the most use.

WERKZ holsters has very fine IWB holsters, along with OWB holsters for firearms with lights. Their quality and customer service are top notch and their prices are more than completive. I don’t know if this addresses your cross-draw situation, but hopefully they would/will have something that works for you. Best of luck in your CCW and DBD issues.

A few years ago I was taking a class on home defense. The instructor was adamant that cross draw was dangerous, whether open carry or CCW. His point was that when you unholster, you flag 1/2 of the room.

He also didn’t like weapons lights, for the same reason. Your flagging the room as you scan it.

Not entirely sure I agreed with him, as to me this is more a matter of training and trigger discipline.

I’m with you on this one.
Put two certified instructors in one room and you’ll have three different opinions on the matter.

Yes, you are correct and that instructor is ridiculously wrong…. Dear God, I’m always amazed at some of the nonsense that comes out of some “instructors” mouths.

Unfortunately a lot of Firearm Instructors are teaching their fundamentals, their techniques, saying that “It’s the only way”.
Such person should decide if he / she is Certified Firearm Instructor, or uncle / aunt, brother / sister, who knows something about firearms and teaches his / her family…

DUST… almost like SHAFT… :joy:

Unfortunately MANY “instructors” are getting basic certifications like the NRA Pistol Safety Course certification and then they think they are John Wick clones because they watch a lot of YouTube videos and are involved in a bunch of forums. Even many ex-military and ex-LEOs do this. Passing on either completely wrong or seriously dated material as the end all of knowledge.

There is NOTHING more annoying, terrifying, irritating and dangerous than someone “teaching” well ahead of their dammed headlights…
