As morbid as my curiosity can be and as little as I’m generally moved by seeing videos like this,… I have no desire to see the raw video.

What I did see of the video, nope.
She would’ve been bleeding badly before I could’ve gotten my gun out, and he would’ve already been walking away.
I wouldn’t have just let him walk away though, I’d have probably shot him in the back and took my chances in court before trying to stop her bleeding…. Though it sounds like I’d probably have been too late for my actions.

Not sure if I could have saved her but after dispatching that gutless coward I would have tried to save her. I would have tried to convince one of the many beta males on that train to at least dial 911.

This is what this generation of cowards have given us. Words that aren’t words! It doesn’t escape me that those in the background are trying their best to lessen the horror we all should feel, in so many instances like this, to not be able to use the words MURDER, MURDERER, KILLER, KILL, to describe the gutless, spineless pieces of garbage that perpetrate such crimes! Reverse the skin color of those involved in this senseless act. Tell me how we would be discussing this crime? The same way regardless? I think not.

A lesson in tradecraft. If you see me at the doctors office, not that that’s a place of danger, or in line at the deli, I use my phone as a rouse. I may have it out and it LOOKS like I’m totally engrossed I’m actually gathering intel as people check in, what they are wearing , like the way a pickpocket might size you up! You be surprised at the info you can gather.
Just today while waiting for a prescription of my own I gathered, from the couple ahead of me, first and last name, DOB, address, phone all I need now is his PIN number which is not that hard to acquire. People are to lazy and complacent. I can be sure at least one of the numbers in his birthday is his PIN number for something. I’ve made the same mistake. It’s easy to remember numbers you’re familiar with.
It really pisses off the clerks that I DO NOT reveal my information orally!
You want or need to verify me even though you see me twice a week, I’ll hand them my license, all the information they need is right there.
Please tell me you guys practice this or am I on an island?

In my defense, I don’t solicit information from strange women anymore, my wife frowned upon that exercise! But the restaurant practice, that’s all the time whenever I step out the door.

Most were black, and the killer stated he got a white girl. They were not concerned about their lives at that point.

Maybe nobody here could have ‘Saved’ Iryna—-the Wolf struck too fast, not like a muttering, yelling whacko on the platform you notice right away. but you can ACT afterwards.
I’m still going to BE THE LION! (take my licks in the Courts afterwards) BUT I WILL STAND TALL- and be able to look myself in the mirror!

I’ve been burdened with this situation since it happened. Both of my sons traveled on that train back in May to attend the PGA tournament at Quail Hollow. The tickets for the event offered free transportation on the light rail because of parking restrictions around the golf course. They were told by my wife and I to always be on the lookout while traveling on the train for suspicious behavior. When they arrived back home, I asked them about their experience on the train. They told me everyone on the ride home looked suspicious. Since this happened, I believe it has opened their eyes to what could have happened, and I’m thankful for that.
However, I believe Iryna did exactly what she was supposed to do, other than possibly sitting in her seat with her back to the window to watch fellow passengers. Her only mistake was getting on her phone quickly upon sitting down. She looked around when first getting on the train. She saw the closest available seat to the exit. Had any other scenario occurred, she would have looked like an informed rider with a plan. For example, if an armed gunman opened fire, she would have been the first one off and she had a shield in front of her with the panel separating her seat from the exit. If the train derailed, she was close to an exit. She could watch passengers get on and off to stay informed of her surroundings. I feel any one of us on this forum would probably do the same thing.
It’s also hard to profile people in this situation. Anyone riding that train doesn’t have the means necessary to have their own transportation. Most of them are not bad people. But, how many big black men ride the train? If she was going to stay away from them, she wouldn’t be able to ride at all. I believe someone on this forum stated a few months ago they were profiled in a public elevator and on the next available floor, that person got off because they were uncomfortable. I feel they did a great job of protecting themselves in that scenario. However, the gentleman she profiled was probably the only person in that building who would have been willing to protect them the most.
I feel the guy who killed her was going to do so as soon as he saw her enter that train. All he saw was a white girl!!! She could have sat anywhere on that train and I think the same thing would have happened.

Why would that have made any difference? He could have just as easily stabbed her in the chest. Do you remember what he said afterwards?

She would have been more situationally aware. He was a coward he would have been afraid to stab her in the chest. No I didn’t hear what he said after.

He said something along the lines of “I got that white girl”. To me it signified who he wanted to kill.
