They could. And if they did and shot and killed someone, they would and should be held accountable. Just like what happened today.
The former Officer in question is held to a higher standard. Because she was expected to know better. She was required to be an expert in her profession and demonstrate self-control and restraint. Just like all of us who ever wore the uniform were expected to.
I carried a Taser and a firearm. And I knew the difference. I carried one on one side and one on the other for good reason. She killed somebody because of her negligence and stupidity.
End of story.
