So that beautiful branch that hung into my yard and could’ve provided me with 100s of peaches,… was cut off…

But this branch is still in MY YARD! (Same tree)

I unfortunately I didn’t treat this branch… so most of the fruit look like this!

Which is a total shame because the ones that aren’t bug ridden are amazing!!!

Then I also have this peach (different tree) overhanging my yard….

Not as full, but bigger fruit and not as bug ridden,… tho still only maybe 50% harvestable…

These are definitely a different phenotype, larger, firmer, more bitter….The buggy ones look like this..

Suggestions?

Two different types of peaches,…

Have already thrown hundreds into the compost… and only half of what’s left may be harvestable….

My thumb is about as green as a stop sign. That said, my two suggestions would be:

  1. Declare it a Bug Free Zone, or

  2. Wait until your neighbors are on vacation and secretly move the fence to the other side of the tree.

I’ve done told the bugs the couldn’t eat the peaches on the east side of the fence.

They just don’t seem to care about my rules!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::+1:

Realistically I will have a few dozen to couple hundred useable peaches from their trees this year….

What can I do with them?

Recipe ideas?

Preservation ideas?

And like I said, there’s two types of peach, one is ready to harvest and eat now, and the more abundant one isn’t.

I sure wish I could chime in on the canning, all I know from growing up was I’ve seen gramma with Mason jars/lids, pitting/slicing the peaches, boiling the peaches, and… and…QUIT EATING THE PEACHES!! GO OUT SIDE AND PLAY!!! GIT!!! :face_savoring_food: :winking_face_with_tongue:  :person_running: I asked my wife, SAME ANSWER!!! WHAT??? They didn’t show you how to can? Her older sisters knew how, and helped out! BUT my wife was the baby of the family ( spoiled brat ):woman_running:GO PLAY!!!
