CCMW question: "bedside" gun (and staging method)

I have my Glock 48 holstered in a Concealment Express IWB holster and a flashlight inside the first drawer of my nightstand (no children).
My wife has her Sig P238 holstered in a Concealment Express holster and a flashlight in first drawer of her nightstand.

I keep a Glock 43X in the top nightstand drawer (unholstered) with a tactical flashlight next to it, loaded with hollow points, one in the chamber, and a spare mag next to it. There are no children in the home.

I have a security system thatʻs always armed before I go to bed, with 0 delay (both sensors & glass break detectors) and my cell phone is laying on top of the nightstand. If there was a break-in in the middle of the night I would retreat into my master bath/closet with gun, phone, flashlight, and mag in hand while calling 911 and keeping it on Speaker so that the 911 operator could hear everything thatʻs happening.

I keep my Colt 1911 45 under the pillow next to me, not the one I sleep on. There is a round in the chamber, it is cocked, with the safety on.

Hi Beth,
My EDC, S&W M&P Shield 9mm, with night sights, round in the chamber, in my EDC holster on the night stand. Spare magazine and flashlight are also on the stand ready to go. On the side of the night stand I keep my Stevens 320 Security with ghost ring sights, fully loaded but with an empty chamber, and spare shells readily available. My wife keeps her EDC, Sig P238, with night sights, round in the chamber, in her EDC holster on her night stand. She also keeps a spare magazine and a flashlight. We have a locking bar on our bedroom door, so someone will literally have to tear our door off of the hinges to get inside our safe room. Our base plan is that unless someone is actually breaking in the door, I will cover the door while my wife calls 911. No room clearing for us, as long as we are alone. If the grandkids are staying with us, then we go to plan B. I won’t go into details, but we rehearse it whenever the grandkids stay with us. A solid plan, well rehearsed is the best security available. Hope this answers the mail!

When I go to bed, my carry gun (1911 Compact) comes out of my IWB holster, and right into a mattress/bed holster, one in which a flap goes befween the mattresses and hangs on the side. When I get up in the morning, gun comes out of that holster and back on the belt. Our kids are all grown, so no questions about who might be moving around the house at night.

More like what gunS do I keep near my bed…
On my nightstand: SIG P320 .40S&W w/SureFire X300 Ultra weapon light, fully loaded, round in chamber
Under my pillow: SIG P365 9mm w/15-rd extended mag, fully loaded, round in chamber
In the corner: “Ghost gun” AR-15 pistol w/SIG Romeo5 RDS, fully loaded (with one of those evil, scary, Joe Biden 50-clips magazines    ), round in chamber, safety on
Divorced for 10 years; the teenagers live with the ex. My cat knows not to muck around with my firearms…

PT111 G2 loaded and chambered with a Crimson Trace rail master and a hand held light beside it on the night stand. Behind the night stand a loaded and chambered trusty old 12 gauge pump field gun, barrel cut down to legal length with a weapon mounted light. No kids or grand kids.

I have one of my FN Herstal 5.7x 28 with a TLR-2 Streamlight laser/light (light/laser/both) with a full 20 round magazine and the 21st round chambered, stored ready to fire safety off in a GunVault bolted to the bottom open shelf of my nightstand. (All my other pistols are SIG SAUERs, it is the only pistol with a manual safety. When I equip one of my SIGs with a similar light device it will take the place of the FN) I prefer that you do NOT share my first name, last initial, thank you.

I have a Hi-Point .40S&W with Hornady self defense hollow points in a holster attached to my bed attached to the side near my head for easy access. kids all grown and many miles away so I have plenty of notice to put guns in safe.

Next to the bed leaned up between it and the nightstand is my AR pistol with 25 rounds of Hornady TAP. Somewhere else in the room is an 870 with 9 rounds of 2 3/4" #4 Buck and a side saddle with two more and three slugs. There may or may not be a pistol depending on the day. I have my Milwaukee Flashlight and Flash Stick. My wife has the Surefire E2D. Other guns in various inconspicuous locations throughout the hose. God help the bas!ard$ if I make it to the safe. No kids, no cats and I haven’t met a dog yet that was curious enough to make me worry.

Cheers,

I just changed my setup tonight… a Glock 43 (with a built in recoil assembly pulsating red dot laser) on the nightstand, and a Glock 17 (in a CAA MCK platform with a built in tactical flashlight) on the wall.
