I have seen some stories from the past few months where the mayors of Toronto and Montreal have called upon the Canadian Parliament to effectively ban handguns, as well as semi-automatic rifles, in that country. I would assume that with Canada’s history of registration, that confiscation would soon follow this type of ban. Is there anyone here who is more familiar with this situation in Canada?

Well, I hope that the Canadian government will be a bit more hesitant in enacting ineffective gun bans than the folks in New Zealand were. I just can’t stand it when someone debating me on this issue will say that “We need to be more like New Zealand and the rest of the world”. My simple reply is always “This is the United States of America, not the rest of the world”.
