Seems to me George Washington defined the unorganized Militia as any able bodied man 17 to 45 years of age. If that’s the case, do we ban men 17-45?

As a university professor with a PhD in Education and as a professional editor, I would like to propose the following modernization of the Second Amendement in 2024 terminology, bringing 1791 terminology into our century: “A well-trained body of free men being necessary to the security of a free country, the right of the people to keep and bear weaponry shall not be violated.”

Unfortunately that still doesnt change the fact they say the “militia” is only there to protect the govt, not FROM the govt.

It is not the militia they intend to ban. It is the illegal things the militia might do. Yea I know illegal things are already illegal, but they got nothing else to do. Sorry, I only watched the first two minutes of the video. I have other things to do.

That is incorrect… they want to ban the entire militia, BECAUSE others can do illegal stuff… same as almost all “gun control” laws… they arent for the criminals

My state literally tried making “training with real firearms with one or more other people” a militia, and wanted to ban it

our governments… counties, states, and federal have a bit of fear over militia’s…
perhaps such is justifiable??? some paramilitary groups are way out there…
not real sure about fearing and banning all of em… cause there are also legit groups…
groups that form to defend their communities…
the de-fund the police thing kinda points at we the people having to defend ourselves…
a note: as little as perhaps 50 years ago the de-fund thing would probably had many people very upset…
maybe even unto the point of violence against their government employees???

What is Antifa but a leftist militia? They operate with impunity. I seem to recall that “vigilance committees” are part of our history and we appear to be rapidly approaching a need for their resurgence; perhaps “community protection groups” would be a suitable iteration.

The text of the Second Amendment reads in full: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The militia clause is part of the Second Amendment!
The Anti-2A radicals want to abolish our second amendment rights!
They want to end guns among We the People!
If we allow anyone to edit, cherry-pick apart, redact any part of our Constitution of the USA 
, it will set a precedent, and it won’t stop there until they have abolished The entire document. HELL NO!

If we the militia, We the People our abolished from the Second Amendment, who will have a right to bear arms? No one!
Read the Second Amendment: We are the well regulated militia (We the People), if not us who has the right to to bear arms, then Who? They will have separated us from our guns.
Leave the Constitution of the USA alone!
