Beloved EDC Heartache

The trick is oftentimes not looking for the item,… but an inconsistency in texture…. It’s like spotting satellites, you don’t dart your eyes from star to star, to see if it’s moving… you focus on a star field, eventually you will see motion… there’s the satellite.

OK, Guys, I did get the new mag release assembly in today and got it installed. Easy Peasie, Lemon Squeezy.

Installation was easy after I figured out I needed to seat the bushings, not the whole assembly. It was a smack to the side of my head moment. I posted a link to my very small, seldom used YouTube channel which I operate under the pen name of Zebra Sixtwo. I created it under the pretense of posting how to survival videos, but I never had the time for it. Life got in the way.

Anyway, the release is installed, and it works perfectly as any genuine Beretta part should.

I did find something interesting which I stated in the video, which I will explain here.

I shoot right-handed, but my mag release has always been set up left-handed. The first M-9 I ever trained with was set up left-handed as it belonged to a left-handed shooter. When I bought my own M-9, I set it up the same way and then I set this one up the same way. It is how I trained on the weapon originally and I became proficient with it.

With this release being the over-sized button type, I am able to use the inside portion of my second knuckle to release the magazine. I did some mag changes, and it seems a little faster. I’ll have to train with it to see if I want to switch to doing it that way or continue doing it with a fingertip. Time will tell.

Anyway, I hope you can get to the video and share in my success.

Edited for spelling.

A story of lost & found. Fall in the city, 10 PM, leaves filling gutters. Granddads

H&R in 38 S&W. Dropped from my sports coat pocket in the gutter. Down on my knees looking for it when friendly squad car pulled up. “having a problem?” I answered " Dropped my wallet in the leaves". So I have 2 Police officers helping me find my “WALLET”. Finally I said I got it, slipping my empty hand into my pocket. “Thanks for the help” I said. They drove off. I dug into the leaves again & got my auto-eject antique. “Whew”. I still have it, 60 years later and have still never cleaned it. Sorry.

It does “slice” a bit. The barrel alignment is just a hair off. Not my EDC, but was Grand dad’s. Oh by the way my Grand ma got rid of(I heard later) of a nice Colt 32-20. I was 17 when POP passed away. Can’t trust the kid with a gun.

Borrow or buy one of those rolling magnets that roofers use to pick up nails. It may find the spring.

I had a mower that would break a clutch bolt and drop the washer in the yard. I have a magnet bar that I drag to find it. Washer is big enough to hear it click when the magnet finds it.
