You may of heard of the dot torture drill but this one is a little different,
At 15 feet, take your time and shoot a hole in each dot.
(Notice) If target is at a closer distance you will be shooting underneath the dots. as a part of sight alignment and the trajectory of the bullet at close distances.
Use your sight alignment and focus on the front sight with the target behind your front sight.
GOOD LUCK! Lets see those targets!
LOL, I misread your post as 15 yards… I was like what the…
I have a love/hate relationship with the little dots. Good drill!
I practice this drill frequently with my SIRT laser. I have done this at the range, that is why I have the distance at 15 feet. At 5 feet I was hitting the lower dots on the target. You will be able to see a pattern of bad habits you have with this drill.
@Todd30 ,
What is the size of the target and size of dots?
One inch. It is a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper.
Accuracy skill training.
I got this from an LEO at the range. We exchanged drills and teaching yourself on finding your mistakes and correcting them. This drill helps you focus on accuracy, making sure you use your sight alignment, sight picture when taking each shot then acquiring the next target. You can not get sloppy doing this drill and each shot should be a learning moment or you are just wasting your ammo.
Here it is! I moved it back to 25 feet. The first shot was low so I moved it back to 25 feet, then the rest was just as described. I could trouble shoot what I was doing wrong. When I went to regular target I was way more accurate. It was good concentration and control.
