The unit next to our airfield had a squad, 6-7 of these monsters. When they started these animals up it would literally shack the entire post.
This is an interesting place to spend an hour or two if you are unfortunate enough to be stuck driving through SoCal. Lots of history and a bunch of tanks you can get up close to.
The war in Ukraine is providing some strong evidence that the age of tanks dominating the battlefield may be coming to an end. Will be interesting to see if they can adapt to counter all the modern anti tank weapons.
The ability to EMP might negate this, it would be very interesting if in the future do to knocking out elcecs could bring back ww2 era tech with no electronic guidence and what not.

That’s a valid point. The majority of the U.S. military weapon systems these days seem largely or entirely dependent on GPS or other communication signals. Blocking those signals or taking out the source will render many of those systems useless.
That’s cool.
This is something That I have fun thinking about and I am surprised more people haven’t as we have the tech for potable and localised EMPs and this could knock out most guided weapons systems and drones.

I’m not certain on his family’s exact European origins. If I am remembering correctly he was born in SoCal and was related in some way or another to several famous Americans including George Washington.
